Well what can I say, I'm very excited to have been chosen once again for Ride of month for a 2nd time it's a real honor and I'm very humbled by this opportunity because of the respected and clean cars built on V6P it's always a challenge to even be considered for this contest.
While thinking up my h22 and 5spd conversion I bought parts all over including driving to Boston to pick up the motor that winter of 06. After having sourced all the parts needed for the swap including searching for a super rare ECU because I wanted to stay OBD2, it took 4 or 5 months to locate, I then had the vehicle dropped off to a shop which I trust and known, we were hoping the whole swap would be a few weeks to complete but with complications with the shop and their situation, I waited patently for almost 1 year until they were forced to close down for good. At that point I had the car delivered to First State Motor Sports in Delaware and Josh over there took care of my car and had it out in no time they really saved me. The whole situation had me upset, but I kept no hard feelings and just moved on.
I waited it out since both shops were out of town and it hurt not having a local solution since most of the major Honda shops in the MD/VA area did not want to touch my car. I'm sure a lot of you guys have felt the same with down time but I'm happy it's over with and enjoying the car now. Since getting the car back from the shop late this past summer I've had a few problems and I wish I would of met Paul (NVA-AV6) sooner because I had issues with shifting which was part of the whole 5spd swap which he corrected and he also did a lot of other little and major details including maintenance which has helped greatly. I also added a few more modifications since getting the car back including new 19" SSR SP1's, Carbon Fiber trunk and other minor changes.
I'll be doing a mild Naturally Aspirated build in the process of rebuilding the block from the ground up, mostly likely after summer. Next for the car is new Seats and either a harness bar or an Auto power Roll bar to go along with the new seats. I'm working with Rotora to hopefully get a new brake kit and I'm also working with Magnaflow and Auto Meter, DEI, Corbeau, NRG and a few more company's so we will see what I can get done in the near future.
I want to thank all the V6P members that have been helpful and informative on the board including the staff at V6P for giving me the opportunity to be selected for Feature Ride of the month. I have to give a shout out to my team at TeamSOLO.net for accepting me in their family while my car was under the knife which lead them to not even seeing the car before they let me join, they had full faith in my direction and dedication. Not many teams would do that and I can truthfully say they are about the people and not surely about the cars people build only.
Shout out to Paul and Carrie for the long nights in the garage lol, Itai for helping me drag motors and parts in your truck all over Jai aka Driven also for helping me out when needed, My sponsors including BFGoodrich Tires, Maguires, Corbeau USA, Rotora, Customlightz.com, KC Photography.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me.
