cheap oil and oil filter?

I decided to do my own oil change and went to the dealer to buy 4 quarts of oil (mom's lx 4cycl) and a filter and they wanted 18 bucks! . Did they try to rip me off? They only charge 23 bucks for an oil change so they charge 5 bucks for labor?

Is there a place I can buy oil filter and oil in bulk to save?

The OEM oil filter costs aroung $6, and you need like 4-5 quats, so it came to around $2.66 per quart.

You buy 12 qt. cases at just a little more than $20 and a filter for around $3 at Autozone and still have enough oil left for a second oil change

Just buy a case of Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5w-30, can't go wrong there. And just buy a honda OEM filter.

Total: 35 bucks but its worth it for your sexy car and you can run 4500miles on the mobil 1

Even Costco sells a 6-pack of Mobil 1 for about $21. Add a Fram Extra Guard filter for about 5 bucks and your good for 4000-5000 miles.

I use K&N and Mobile 1 and so far it has ran very well. A K&N filter is about 10 and mobile 1 by the case is just a bit over 22 (at Costco). Mobile 1 does make a filter, as does Fram (in different price ranges) that are just a bit cheaper than the K&N. I like the K&N because it has a nut built in to the bottom of the filter allowing a crecent wrench for removal.....

i still haven't seen any real evidence synthetic is superior to conventional. i also haven't been convinced any of the major brands are better than the others. yes, i have wasted my money on mobil 1 just like most people, but i'm not doing it anymore. i getting the cheapest namebrand and an ac delco filter and running the car till it drops at 300K
