Get that code checked out. Sounds like possibly a cam or crank sensor.

Sounds like you're on limp mode. Check the code for the CEL and fix it. :P

How about you go to an autozone when your CEL is on and get your code read for free and then go from there.

First guess would be a bad MAF sensor. But that's from 4 1/2 years of owning a Maxima and a knowing a bad MAF kills acceleration and power.

I've had the same issue before and it was the accelerator app sensor. Cost about around $120 for the part and took me about 20-25 minutes to replace.. not sure if that was the problem he was having..

same ish happened to mine. was driving fine on the hwy then i get an engine light and i cant go past 40mph.

the problem was the APP sensor.

How's your acceleration? One way to tell if it is the APP sensor is to drive at constant rpms say around 2100-2200 rpm's and you'll notice the rpm kind of flicker and be inconsistent..

Also when it goes into limp mode your CEL should come up.. run the codes and then diagnose...

I've been in limp mode a million times lol. Most likely APP sensor as others have said. There are two potentiometers in there for safety. If one's position doesn't correspond with the others within about 5% error it goes into limp mode and limits it to 3K rpm and about 20% throttle.

have an 03 accord v6 and at times it drives perfect. no issues or vibration. then out of the blue it will drop from 65+ mph to around 35 mph like i slammed hard on the brake. afterward it wont go over 40 without hesitation or jerking me down to a lower speed. dont drive it for a day or two and its fine for a day or two then back to the same thing? any ideas?

Check for engine codes, then plug the code into the search function here. That will get you answers the quickest.
