Launch X431 Tool

Has anybody ever used a Launch X431 iCarScan Bluetooth Tool and app to swap an Accord V6 ECU to a TL Type S ECU so that an engine management system can be added? The tool allows you to register your vehicle VIN number into the new TLS ECU, disabling the immobilizer as required to swap the ECU. The ECU swap is required to add engine management (Hondata or KTuner). This seems like the easiest method that I can find to accomplish an ECU swap from home, without going to the dealership. This seems about as easy as it gets.

I recently went the Fly100 2nd Gen route which was over $100 more and not plug-n-play. I had to get a tech from overseas to remote login to change the registry to get the correct menu to show up.

I also bought a small tablet for $200 to run the software But after all that it works great

I looked at some of these other options but did not see anyone here having used them and went the Fly route.

If you try one, let us know how it goes.

Another option would be to see if thisaznboi88 can loan you his Fly100. He did an ECU swap for me before I bought my own Fly100.

Fly100 works for me but I had to use a windows XP netbook. I did not try to use the emulator on windows 10 since I couldn't get it to work on 7 or 8

I recently purchased a genuine gna600 kit from a previous Honda tech on eBay. If you lived close to me in Georgia I could assist you with this. Hope you can get it to work.

Bense, why did you hack the x431 tablet?

I just want to change the Vin on a TLS ECU so that I can add Engine Management.
