anyone here have the intake manifold spacer from the MDX or Pilot on their j35? I'm trying to find an aftermarket one for our car and am having a hard time.
Right, I know the mdx and pilot one is but im looking for an 8th gen specific aftermarket one cause the OEM ones are kinda pricey simply cause they are from the dealership i think.
i did it myself i get so great performance but im going to be changing it again making the holes bigger n changing to a bigger gasket n have custom intake runner.
i might change n change the top to 3.7 Acura RL more pic coming soon
I did this for a customer. I do feel like it provides low end torque but some people claim you actually lose some HP up top. To me, the takeoff is more valuable than the top speed, I mean this is an Accord after all.
The one thing I will caution you on... On a 7th gen, an unmilled spacer causes the manifold to touch the hood liner. The hood will still close, but it does touch. I don't know if the situation is different on 8th gens.
Ported runners bring 20tq and 9hp or something like that. This brings 7.5tq and 1hp. BUT it brings the torque curve WAY up on the low end. I went with a spacer instead of the runners. You cannot run ported runners and spacer

Let me rephrase. They were not MANUFACTURED to work together.
The OEM Intake Spacer is tapered to assist in funneling the air in. Once you lose the taper, it brings down the performance of the spacer. The taper makes the intake spacer act as if its twice as long.
Porting its taper would reduce its eficciency. It actually tapers slightly from what I have read. Having this creates an acceleration of the air flowing through.
Does anyone know if I can expect any gains from the mdx spacer on a 2010 accord at w/ the following mods.....tadeka Sri, lightweight crank pulley, j-pipe, megnaflow catback, pnp intake runners, tbe spacer. My concern is because I already have the intake runner mod it won't be effective.
I am agree with all who said that it's better. I have not dear but a friend of mine have this. And according to him you should concern to a mechanic. That is the best way to solve this problem. aged care homes queensland
