Yeah the 6th gen DX used the same engine that came in the 5th gen LX. The 7th gen DX has the same engine as the LX and EX . The 7th gen DX is the cheapest way to get an I-Vtec inline for in a Honda/Acura car :) .
And Nittanys1 you forgot the SE trim level. You know the trim that sits between the LX and EX inline 4.

Leather is option but moonroof is there. I'm not sure about climate control but it doesn't have homelink system (6gen EX AI4).

No the 6th gen EX I4 does not get automatic climate control even with leater.
The 7th gen EX I4 gets duel automatic climate control when equiped with leather.

I've got an EX V6 Sedan with all the goodies, and then some I added later on....
I have a question though...
The SE Accord... Was there two SE's in the 6th Gen Run? My friend has one, but it doesn't have a moon roof ... it does however have the SE wheels, and the badges on the back. It's a 2000 Sedan .... I wonder why Honda didn't offer an SE coupe?

yup in 00 and 02... SE is like an in between LX/EX model cuz it has some of one and some of the other.. i guess it was a value/ popularity thing, like why the coupe or V6 doesnt come in DX

Well this makes sense now that I think about it. In 2001 the Accord got a slight make over, so in 2000 they offered up a cheaper (in my opinion) SE model, because that year didn't come with the moon roof. In 2003 the Accord got a complete redesign so the 02 SE models got the moonroof and the better radio than the 2000 models. So to get rid of their inventory of sedans they make the SE models to make them more desirable. Even though, as I sit here and think about it again. What can't you get on a SE that you can't get on a base model 4 cyl EX?

The 2000 SE is basically an LX with ABS, alloy wheels, wood trim and an automatic. It might have keyless entry with a security system but I'm not sure. The 2002 SE is an LX with wood/silver trim, moonroof, keyless entry, security system, AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo, automatic, alloy wheels and power height adjustment on the driver's seat. My dealer offered me $18.5k OTD for an SE, $20k OTD for an EX auto with cloth, $21k OTD for and EX auto with leather and $23k OTD for an EX V6. The EX V6 won out:)

The options I am talking about were listed on the car sticker as part of the SE Honda Accord value package. Other stuff like mud guards, spoiler, side trim, pin stripes, and other crap is what the dealer puts on as optional equipment. At least that's what I think.:D

Well if you wanted the top of the line 3 series you would have to shell out the money for a 330Ci or M3.
Why get the LX when for a little more you can get the EX with all of the stuff possible on the car model you want. Though there is nothing wrong with getting the LX.
I wanted everything the EX offered but the leather was a give or take think I ended up with. Though the auto climate control, stock 16'' alloy rims, moonroof, 6 speaker cd stereo, and wood trim make up for the leather problems. Though the leather isn't that bad. It is softer than the cloth seats and adds more luxury to the interior.

How'd you go from a Navigator to a Tempo? Why have you had two Accords of the same year and model? Did you trade your dad your '00 sedan for his '00 coupe or something?

Isn't true that Honda improved the leather quality sometime around 2000? I remember my mom's '98 having really crappy vinyl-like leather that didn't have the nice gathered areas my '02 has. My car has much softer leather than her '98 overall. Don't get me wrong it's still not that great. The front seat bottoms are pretty hard and rough and the leather on the front door panels isn't "gathered" enough for my liking and have an ugly flattened leather look. The back door panels and seat look quite a bit nicer than the front for some reason.

The 2003 Accord leather is beautiful compared to the last gen, even the 2000+. And they even fixed the leather door panels. Instead of gathering it up to put in a pattern of sorts they stitched defined lines into the leather, a much higher quality way of doing it.
The 2003 Accords little fine touches keep amazing me. I can't wait to see what they are going to do for the 2004 TL's interior  .

Heh, the navigator was my dad's car when i was 15-16. Since I didn't really have a designated car, as long as I washed it every couple weeks, I got to take it out.
Then when I said that I want "any car," they gave me any car. And that was the 2.3 liter, 86-horsepower, 3-gear automatic, 93 ford tempo. hahahahaha. i put an intake on it and then the check engine light came on and the car died. but it worked after the stock system was put back on. hahhaa.
and then my dad traded in his nav for our two accords. at first he drove the coupe and the sedan was family-usage (if its home and you need to go out, then you can drive it) and then 2000 miles later, we traded and we bought two more accords so that each person in the family (mom, dad, brother, me) could have a 6th gen accord. i kept the coupe.

I see:) . That's cool that your entire household owns an Accord. That '93 Tempo sounds like it was pretty rough:D My first car was going to be an '88 Nissan Sentra from my grandparents but I wasn't going to have that so I begged my mom to get me something better. I wasn't about to put up with 70HP, a 4-speed manual and power nothing. I ended up getting a '91 Acura Legend on my 16th birthday so that was cool:) . Three years later I bought my Accord after the Legend started having some mechanical problems. The Sentra is mine but it stays with my grandparents because I don't want that piece leaking oil all over my driveway:laugh:

LoL. Actually the only leather thats in the Accord is what you sit on. The rest of it is a high grade vinyl. Meaning the door panels, the back of the drivers seat, arm rest, and rear seats are all good old vinyl.
So I guess you like the vinyl better huh?

And Nittanys1 you forgot the SE trim level. You know the trim that sits between the LX and EX inline 4.
Wrong answer
1994-1997 DX and most LX accords used the non V-tec version of F22. The V6 was an option on the LX
1998-2002 DX accords used the non vtec version of the F23
2003-2005 DX used the same I4 as the rest of the accords.
2006 the DX was replaced with the VP accord- still uses same I4 as the rest of the accords

1998-2002 DX accords used the non vtec version of the F23
My mistake.
2006 the DX was replaced with the VP accord- still uses same I4 as the rest of the accords
You do realize this thread and my post are over 3 years old, right?

Yes, it has the least amount of features stock. The 6th and 7th gen Accord DX have optional A/C. So because of that, the DX was at least 50 pounds lighter than the LX. But the 2006 Accord VP has standard A/C, so its only 9 pounds lighter than an LX or 3 pounds lighter than an LX SE.
Note: All weight comparisons in this post are based on M/T models. A/T model weights will vary.

Do you have a sunroof and leather? That's an EX since you have a V6
If you have the worst 6g hubcaps, unpainted sideskirts, and cloth seats, then you have an LX
V6 6th gen never came in DX.

haha heated seats would be pretty nice. Too bad we don't have them in the U.S. for 6th gens :(. Canadian 6th gen Accord had heated seats. As for CD changer, the stock 6th gen EX 01-02 6 cd changer is not that great.
