Axis Groove 20x8.5 (front) 20x10 (rear) lowered w/ Eibach springs. The rear fenders had to be rolled and stretched tires were used in the rear as well. Not sure on the offset. Looked on www.axiswheels.com and it listed any offset for these wheels. 245/35R20 (front) & 275/30R20 (rear). The Accord belongs to an Axis employee's friend.

My opinion 20's . I'll be looking to put 20x8 20x9 .
dude! im loving that black one up there.. ugh after finally deciding to go with 19's it just totally took me off my idea i was set on 19's with an eibach drop and i was gonna order them in 2 months and now i dont know if to go with 19 or 20.. i thought 20 would be too big. PLEASE PEOPLE OPINIONS!! lol you all should know how it is between A and B when they both look good it goes back in forth in your head for weeks i need help guys..

i saw an accord with rims and i swear it looked like a 4x4 i didnt ask the guy what size rims they were but i figured they were 20's because i didnt think anyone would be so stupid to put 22's which is why im kinda eghh about 20's..

I did some more searching and the wheel offset on the black Accord with 20x10 rear Axis Grooves have a 40mm wheel offset. Also, don't let the red Accord fool you. It's a photoshop job. The wheels are supposedly 18s but on the www.ronjonwheels.com website the wheels are 18x8.0 with the 5x114.3 bolt pattern and either 32mm or 48mm wheel offset.
Yeah once you lower the Accord the wheels will look larger. I have a particular wheel in mind when I get my 08' V6 coupe. I'm not telling either. Yeahhh mannn!

20's do NOT look big on an 8th gen. That thing is pretty big itself and staggered wheels are the only way to go.

Well he doesnt have the HFP kit on that black one either i have the HFP body kit on mine so with the drop and the kit its gonna look a bit lower than him.. hmm im starting to drift from the 19's and lean to 20's but just one other thing besides ride height.. ride quality.. with 20's and a drop how bad will that suffer the tire profile is smaller than 19's and a drop..

May 17th, 2008, 12:44 AM
JuztAJ,
Can't go wrong with either size...atleast you will have more choices in wheels between the two sizes.
slowaccord,
i totally agree... staggered is the way to go on the 8th gen. accord coupe unless you want to keep the sizes all around the same so that you can rotate your tires.

I hate four door's Accord but this on 22's look's very nice the only thing this car needs is to drop it about an 1" . But coupe's i think will look good on 20's.

8th gens a porker. its not no crx. It NEEDS big wheels just to look normal. 19" minimum. 20 preferred. heck the right 22" wont look too big either

The black one with the Axis rims is really nice. I just ordered a black on black accord v6 6-spd, so I have to wait atleast 4-6 weeks before it arrivs, but I decided on that one. I would go with the 20's and add the lowering springs. It looks real clean. I drive a 1998 Honda Accord v6 sedan atm, and I only put 18's on mine, because anything bigger looks ridiculous, but these new 8th Gen ones look great with big rims. Who knows. Which accord do you own now? Coupe or sedan?
_JuztAJ_
May 19th, 2008, 09:36 PM
i own the same one you ordered lol but yeah i have a black on black coupe v6 with the HFP kit all the way around that alone makes my car look lower at stock height you can tell by alot when im next to another coupe. but thanks for the advice check out a thread i did about help on HP wheels those are the three ive had in mind..

Love these rims! Was looking at the Shine's as well but wanted a less aggressive look and something a little more professional looking since I drive clients around in my car.
After HFP Suspension: (it settled a bit more later, maybe a centimeter)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (EDIT - Nov 11, 2008)
So I shrunk the image down and put a new one in that has the HFP suspension installed. This is right after the install so it probably settled a good centimeter more. Looks just the way I like it now.
The below picture is before the HFP suspension but some better angles of the rims. Thinking about getting 9.5 for the rear's next summer. I thnk all the staggered folks have got me sold on the look and it will look better under the well now that the tires are closer (less of a well overhang with wider tires).

Yeap... I dont need any extra unsprung weight being hauled around. I will use a little Higher aspect ratio tire as anything under a 45 is a waste of time for me.... I have a feeling the tires will be a 50/55. This will all be combined with a thread long body Konis so I will have much more ride height adjustment than what is currently avalible.

For late model Honda chassis, steel bodied 3011's you can expect to pay $550 per corner... For aluminum 2812LB's you cna expect to pay over $900 per corner. Those are pretty much standard prices and everyone who orders a set is paying that pricing.

Any rubbing issues? How wide are your rims in the rear?
No, same diameter as stocks (18 inch rims with 45 profile versus my new 19 inch with 40 profile), wider 8.5 inch rims though but no rubbing. Even if I drop it an inch I'll be fine.
I did not stagger as that is "rice" in my opinion on this car. Everyone knows a Honda is front wheel drive, so whats the point of staggered. I know guys who've done it and it looks okay, but the overall effect to me is not that pleasing (I know it serves no purpose). In fact, when I see staggered on a front wheel drive I think they're just trying to be like the 350z or the G35/37. If that's what you want go get one of those don't buy a Honda and pretend it's a Nissan....just my two bits.

The point of going with a staggered fitment is to make the car look more aggressive in its stance. What's so "rice" about that?
You talk about going for a professional look because you drive your clients around in your Honda... well everyone knows a Honda is for your average person/family and us "ricers" who want staggered fitments on our Honda FWD wanna-be 350z G35/37 Nissans. Really...if you want to impress your clients you should have gotten a Lexus or an Infiniti...not a Honda. :rolleye2:

That was my point exactly, I couldn't have afforded the higher end luxury Jap's but the Coupe sure looks good. And your right, the staggered look is more aggressive, I was just throwing in my "personal" opinion that it offers no benefits. Okay, I knew "rice" would tick somebody off, a little harsh. It's not like it's a Ford Focus with staggered fitment, that would be nasty!! Things that make you say hmmmmm.

The more '08 Accord coupes I see with aftermarket wheels, the more it amazes me how small anything other than 20's look on it! Here in So. Cali, I know its a matter of time before someone throws 21's or 22's on a coupe. Not that I think it would look nice at all. Plus the unsprung weight would be ridiculous.
By the way, not dissing your car at all, mattchatwin. Looks great and I'm actually thinking of those exact wheels in a 20 inch fitment, should Axis decide to make them in 20x8.5 and 20x10. Right now, the Penta only comes in a 20x9 and 20x10. Not sure the 20x9 will fit under the front fenders.

Actually, I was thinking that dropping it an inch would actually give it the illusion of bigger wheels and still have lots of room in the wells with the wider tires. I really thought about 20's but thought it was getting border line on weight issues though I noticed these Rims are super light. In the end it came down to a huge price jump to 20's and the ride quality seriously gets harsh after 40 profile rubber (I've had 35 and even 30 before and though it looks sweet, it rides terrible). For a daily commuter, no way should you go less than 40 (My opinion), on the track, absolutely!

I gain an extra 1/4 inch on the sidewall vs your tire setup thats why I have a little more sidewall (245/35 vs 225/35). I was just supprise that the setup Im running the ride didnt suffer much over the stock 18's.

For 19's, you're gonna want to go with 245/40/19 in front and 275/35/19 in back. 245/35 and 275/30 won't provide the correct diameter and your speedo will be way off. Offset should be as close to +40 as possible.

rims look good, but i think the tire profile could be a little thinner....
Why is that...
99v6sedan
July 3rd, 2008, 04:33 PM
^i just like thin tires, especially if the wheels are 18's and up and the car is slammed. its really just a matter of personal preference. i just think that a thinner tire compliments a wheel alot more than a thicker tire.

July 3rd, 2008, 05:48 PM
honestly i like it in the middle im not too sure if these tires would look too big (therefore causing the rim to look small, which is my only worry) but then again i dont want a rubber band around my rim where ill lose ride comfort and where i could possibly damage the rim with potholes etc.
what profile size do you guys think wouldnt look too big (ex. a bit smaller than the pic) but not too small where it'll be just stupid to put on the rim.. schu you seem to know ur stuff good from what ive learned whats your input?..

^dont get me wrong there is a point where a tire can be too thin. i just think that 45's on 18s are too chunky

What about 35's on 20 inch wheel? I agree, 45's are too chunky. There has to be a good balance between comfort and looks, just my opinion.

I'm willing to bet you could do 40's on a 20 inch on this car. i have 40's on my 19 and there is plenty of room. What would happen though is you circumference would be bigger, thus you're higher off the ground and bigger spin and brakes decrease in stopping power. You'll want to upgrade brakes if that's the case. just not sure how it would effect other things like Speedomoter, etc.

i know! i had axis wheels (axis titans black w/ polished lip) on my 07' formal black honda ridgeline. the quality isn't as good as ronjons but axis is hitting it on the spot w/ the accord coupe.
as for the ronjon legends on the black accord coupe. IMO, there's a little too much going on. tinted tail-lights, stock chrome trim, black chrome wheels... don't get me wrong it looks good but somehow it's a little distracting.

ok, since i still cant post a friggin pic i'll just give a shout out -
i got Tenzo DC-6 V2 rims size 18x8 offset unknown but no problem while driving at all
tires are bf goodrich ta/kdw/nt size 255/40/18 and are a slight problem.
there is virtually no reduction in sidewall but the ride is a bit "rumbly" now. also, at 60 and above the steering shakes about 5-10 mm when i loosely grip it.
pls help friends! how can i get this problem solved. i have a feeling that the solution will be very cheap and easy and just that the idiots at discount tire do not test drive the car and rectify these problems before giving the car back to customer. those dumb eff's.
-thanks
A-K....could be 1 of 2 things....
1. you may need to rebalance those wheels
OR
2. remember you lose comfort when you get a 40 series tires and lower....so you feel just about every crack on the road....

im with drew on this one. 8th gen REQUIRES staggered wheels or you might as well keep stock rims. standard rims all around throw the balance off. staggered really sets the stance and makes the car handsome.
Can't wait to see a really aggressive setup. someone will be putting 10.5 or 11" on an accord sooner or later. imagine the lip on that!

I have 6000 miles on my staggered setup now. My tires still look perfect. Even if they did wear uneven premature I would just buy new tires eventually. No major issues running staggered setup since Novemeber 2007. If I had to buy rims again right now they def. would be staggered again.

I dont think you can go wider than a 10 inch rim on the 8th gen with it lowered. It would hit the fender. You may be able to do it if you rolled the fender out. I have a 9.5 inch rim in the back and its pretty close.

I have 6000 miles on my staggered setup now. My tires still look perfect. Even if they did wear uneven premature I would just buy new tires eventually. No major issues running staggered setup since Novemeber 2007. If I had to buy rims again right now they def. would be staggered again.

So the centerbore is 64.1 on the 08 accords? Can someone measure it and say for sure. Has it always been 64.1? What year did it change?

I dont think you can go wider than a 10 inch rim on the 8th gen with it lowered. It would hit the fender. You may be able to do it if you rolled the fender out. I have a 9.5 inch rim in the back and its pretty close.
you can fit 10 or even 10.5 on a 8th gen when dropped. if a slammed 7th gens can fit 10's most def you can fit 10's on an 8th gen. the wheel wells are so much bigger on the 8th than the 7th.

If you still have this set lmk, i'm very interested. I've gotta get a set of wheels/tires very quickly; PM or email brocket90@hotmail.com (anyone with a set to sell, 18" gen8's only)

I'm in the works of seriously revamping this....same location, but new LED's, a little closer together (3/4 inch instead of 1 inch) and less likely to burn out...had a few over the time I've had them, just poor design on my part.
