ok so a little while back, my clock light went out.. clock worked fine so it wasnt a problem...
but i decided to fix it.. and messed around with stuff..
well, long story short... it all got screwed up, so i took out the led i put in.. now my dash lights (AC, radio, and gauge cluster) come on regularly... but turn off when i turn on my headlights or parking lights!!!!!
i checked a bunch of fuses and couldnt find anything.... can anyone help me out??? what did i do wrong?? how can i fix this!?
im at the point right now where i dont care if my clock light is working again.. i just want my dash lights back with my parking and headlights on!
thank you

Did you check the smaller fuses in the engine fuse box? I think the one you need to replace is in there.

just checked under there and all the fuses are fine under there... unless im overlooking something...
i checked the radio fuse and all the light fuses on the passenger side and all the fuses under the hood...

Currently having same problem. Typical clock light out i was dealing with, but the other nite i looked at my dash an my right side ac/heat knob light is out. So i get aggravated and "lightly" hit alittle left of my glovebox an OOooh, came back on. Every so often now it does it. It cant be the bulb oviously. I'm at a loss. I'll c what else i can find an hit the thread up again. ~lata

there is a thread about it. I did this too like a moron, and in the I4's it is the drivers side multiplexor. Since I don't have a AV6, I don't have access to the V6 supplement, so try looking into that.
For my car, it's $100 and I hope I don't have to take my dash out again to get to it. It is buried in the dash, and take my word for it, if you have to take out the dash, be prepared for at least 12 hours with a friend if you have never done it.
But, on the brighter side of things, my electical factory manual should be here any day now, and I should know how to take it out buy then.

damn it.. i was hoping there was some easy fix... i really need to get this fixed since i do a LOT of night time driving....
if my car's under warranty, would the dealership fix it??
also, along the lines of warranty, if i take mine in to the dealership, should i take out my under dash neons? just want to make sure i dont void my warranty with those....

well, the blown multiplexor is your fault, so that would not be covered under warranty. Easy fix, yeah it's easy, just time consuming.
It might be a good idea to take out your neon, but that sounds like a pain in the @ss.

ok.. so this multiplexor *****...
i looked back behind my driver side fuse box.. and saw this big blue box... im guessing this is the thing.. but i need confirmation that this is causing the problem.. or at the very least could be causing it... im not about to blow $80 or more on this thing........
so tonight, i ripped the ***** out.. just to see.. took some pictures also.. they can be found at www.kkoch.net/car/
yea, so when i unplugged the thing, my headlights stopped working, but my AC and radio stayed lit when i turned on my headlights...
when i buy the new one, or whatever i do, ill be willing to sell this ***** off to anyone that wants to diagnos the problem... im not an expert at this ****.
thanks for the help guys

YOU JUST RIPPED IT OUT?

ok.. yea. theres like one bolt and two plastic clips (one on bottome, one on top) that holds it in... i disconnected some of the wires in there also to get the thing to move some more and once i did that it was just a matter of pulling the thing out.. its jammed in there pretty tight, but with some pull, it does come out...
now.. what exactly is this thing? and how do i go about getting a new or used one that works????

was it the bolt that is holding the bar in front of it? I don't see how to get mine out. I just looked.
As for you getting another one, go to the dealer and tell them you don't want to pay more than $100 or see about www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

if someone hasn't bought your trashed one yet I might take it for free and trace what's blown on it and see if there is a cheaper fix than $100, a blown resistor would be a nice cheap fix... I wouldn't need it so i could see if i could fix it and send it back just for a time waster.

ok all i have a similar problem but im not sure on what to do i have a 98 accord and one day my father was driving the car and said all the interior lights went out, i checked the car and the climate control unit was out and the instrument panel was out, i checked the fuses and yes one fuse on the passenger side was blown out, i changed the fuse, and the gauges now light up but the climate control unit does not light up anymore ! i opened up the climate control unit and it is burned on the inside, the light bulbs back there still work but they do not light up, i imagine because the climate control unit is burned out, now my gauges do light up but they are very DIM, the DIMMER in the instrument panel does not work at all, i turn it left and turn it right and it does nothing, how can i fix this dimmer ?? i have heard talk about a multiplexer but i heard theres 3 different ones, the gauge cluster is not burned out because i have a spare one that is guaranteed working, and i plugged it in, and the dimmer also does not work, how can i fix this dimmer problem ??
