Can you live without the computer?

I seriously don't think I can, I hope this isn't a bad thing.

The longest I've been away from the computer was 6 consecutive days, and the last day I was itching to get on the internet. :P It must be the V6P love...

Just something that I was thinking about while staying up on the computer at 3am.

I definately CANT!!!

Most people wonder how I can stare at a computer screen the whole day and still maintain 20/20 eye sight.

But... I'm a programmer during the day, so I MUST be in front of a computer and I'm not complaining.

I just NEED the internet. When I'm not out doing the other things I like to do, I'm in front of my computer. :ugh: :D

That's another thing, staying up super late. Lets see I have to get up for work in about 5hrs but I'm still online typing this. Why? don't know, I'm a night owl I guess. Do I feel tired on 4hrs sleep? not really, I also don't know why. I know its gonna catch up to me in a couple of yrs. But even 3yrs outta college and I still have my college habits :D

i can't live without the internet.. not just computer.. i have my notebook with me 24/7.. but if i can't get on to the net i don't feel like using it at all.. :p

I'm with francis about both the computer thing and the late-night thing. I have my laptop w/ wireless internet at home so I basically always have it with me. I also work maintaining a stock-info web site 5 days a week. I think I've had like 2 or 3 weeks off in the past 3 years lol. Plus I'm always chatting with friends or checking v6p. And damn, espn.com owns me haha

actually, I agree if I didnt have the internet I would not use my computer at ALL!

I do about 70% of my shopping online, research is the BEST online, games?? online is da best (I never touch my ps2)

i lived in new jersey with some relatives for a couple weeks, and I was forced to use 56k with Net-Zero... I only pray that none of you ever have to go through that kind of nonsense.

i dotn think i can. i needa check my mail, ebay auctions, v6p posts (i went without visiting v6p for 3 days and there were like 8 pages of new posts to view.. -_-v), my xanga comments/subscriptions, and downelink msgs...

i do a lot of shopping online too.. see a lot of sales first and vip stuff and yea....

maybe i can live w/o a computer.. but the internet i need.

lets see i have a home pc \ laptop \ pocket pc and had a carputer all with wireless internet access.

so i would probobly die. especialy now that i have a broken leg.

it depends... sometimes it's good to get away from the computer and internet for a week or so
(ex: I would give up a week of the comp/int if I could spend it on a tropical island)

my computer is my jukebox so i need it too, not just the internet. avg 4 hrs of sleep jus like PMantis cuz i stay up to chat... hell i don't even watch that much tv anymore 'cause i prefer the notebook.

my screen blacked out on me a couple months ago and i had to send it to the manufacturer in TX to get fixed.. i was without it for 2 weeks... didn't know what to do while it was gone, bored to death! when it got back, i bought speakers, more memory, and a new webcam to celebrate :D yes, pathetic! but whatever floats your boat

Ya, well I kinda meant like the "computer and it's services" in general, internet... etc. :p

I think the internet service is the MOST important.

No internet = :(

Another thing, I am absolutely positive that if my wireless internet would actually have a stable connection.... I would do A LOT better in school.

I've been trying to fix this problem for months! :mad:

am i the only old person that remembers what life was like before the internet? well yeah life sucked back then...

i'm not an extreme internet junkie... i have to get my daily dose.. but i don't have to be on it all the time anymore... guess that's what settling down does to you... if something happens i can go without internet for maybe 5 days... then i'll go to my parents and use theirs.. hahaha

i also can't live without TV or music though... silence drive me mad and computer sounds don't do it for me, so i usually got the tv or a stereo on in the background unless i'm at work i got all my mp3s loaded there...

Im on the comp all day for work then i go home eat dinner and im back on the comp again.......If im not doing anything you can always find me sittin at a comp....:D...ohh and i can't live witout tv or music either especially music...:p

hrm.. my job is computer related.. I won't know what to do.. hrm.. then again I wouldn't have to answer stupid user questions... teach people how to use excel, word, powerpoint, access... wouldn't have to write tools to make my job easier. It would be a nice vaction if there wasn't any computers around for 5-6 days
