Hey guys,
I'm looking to get some fogs for my car, but not exactly sure what kinda to get or where to mount.
Could u post a pic of ur cars with fog lights so we'll be able to see how they look & all that?
What kind of lights do u guys recommend, color, shape, size, & where in front bumper to mount? I'm getting white/blue bulbs for headlights if that helps...
Pls keep in ming that i'm on one helluva budget and even the ebay PIAA Platinum knockoff are looking good rihgt now.
thx

that looks sweet, but i forgot to specify 6th gen sedan front ends
cuz that's what i've got :D
Also, is there a way to mount an aftermarket lower grill over the fogs? might not work cuz the fog's stick out, but got any suggestions?

I got Hiper Industries. Wouldnt recomend them, the leak like crazy and i went through 2 sets of bulbs. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid52/p3afc84335fa47e724e2b6192fba9ce19/fc97ad81.jpg
My car is the black sedan in the middle. Those are just the 198's side markers. The hiper industries comes with 2 bulbs in each fog light. one is the H3 for driving, the other is a small parking light.
Right now i just have the small parking lights because one of the H3 bulbs are blown and who needs fogs when you got HID.
Heres a pic before they blew with my HID's u can clearly see 2 bulbs in each fog light. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid52/p0dafbc0ceaffa3c9f1f0faaa880cb29f/fc97ae5d.jpg

anti-vandal/theft. hehe.
these are tenzo 700x's with H3 highwatt mtec bulbs inside. custom bolted to the frame with steel L-brackets.
...as for your request for it on a stock 6th gen sedan, you might just have to wait until i go home friday to take a pic of the sedan...uh...before i take off the foglamps (sorta wanna get them off)

I like OEM because they are high quality and fit perfect but they are kind of pricey. No fake wires or switches. Got mine for $135.

:(I'd Like OEM's but they are hella expensive. I'm assuming you installed urself right? The install job looks easy, except i'm just not sure how to run the wires for connecting the switch.
$135 for OEM's, that is cheap right? Then again, I can pick these lights from ebay for $29 shipped:

What are u guys' impressions of these?
P.S. Anyone got a set of extra 6th OEM sedan fogs laying around the house? :D

OEM install is way different than aftermarket install. The OEM install took me about an hour. Nothing too hard.
The really cheap fogs may leak after a while and the light output may not be too great. Changing bulbs every few weeks or months will add up to a good pair of fog lights in the long run + less work. Just my opinion.

It makes sense that if i spend a little more, it'll be better in the long run, but i don't have much to work with right now, and fogs would be really sweet to get. But on the cheap sets, really every few weeks or months?
U guys know of any good deals on a quality set of fogs around? Pls post.
BTW: For OEM fog installs, did you have to cut gaps into your lower grill?

Yes I did. You may just go ahead and try those for $30 - what do you have to lose.

oem fogs -honda quality, nice neat wiring harness, pretty oem fog switch but is costly`
aftermarket -quality depends on how much you wanna spend, you get a 'wiring harness' basically wires with electrical tape holding them together, but you get the aftermarket look
i wanted the aftermarket look so i bought a set, went to the dealership bought the relay and the oem switch and asked for the electrical schematic and wired them up myself. i had to replace my first set of lamps because a rock smacked it and totally screwed up the light.

could you be more specific in your question?
the harness will connect at a number of places ie the switch, the relay, to your battery somehow, ground, and your lights.

The oem fogs are made by Raybrig. Well, I believe the 98-00 are, but not sure about the 01-02. It says Raybrig on the lens. And the oem's are easy to install.

I've got the Raybrig OEM lights with the H3 Piaa Ion yellow bulbs in them. Looks full on JDM with my HID's, kinda like those Lexus ones.

oem are really nice to me. HandA is selling them pretty cheap right now too. THe bottom beam is the oem fog with an "hyperwhite" aftermarket.

here's a real old pic of my car when I had ion headlights, but you can see the fogs really well.

I love how they look, they have a very nice cutoff which works great during fog, their only downside is H11 bulbs and how they are supposed to be wired, to only come on with the low beams, I have mine rewired so they come on with the parking lamps.

those oval OEM lamps look really good. damn.
i thought they were those ugly round circular ones.

98-00 were the ugly ass round ones. 01-02 are the nice integrated oval ones with the nice shroud. They don't just look like the circle floating in space.

Only if you put an 01-02 bumper on.
and I don't think those are photoshopped, that's what they look like in person too.

Not really. I have them. They are supposed to be closer to the ends and the part of the grill on the ends has to be cut out so that the fog lights can fit. I don't see that in the picture.

Illusion - how did you rewire the OEM kit so that the fogs can come on with the parking lamps? I would like to pick up a set of OEMs for my '03 sedan and did wire it this way with PIAAs on my '99. How did you get around the factory wire harness?
illusion
May 12th, 2003, 06:49 PM
there's a blue wire that comes off of the fog switch. I cut that wire and put a diode inline so current won't flow back to the lowbeam wire, then I tapped into the parking lamp wire and put a diode inline with that, and put it to the switch side of the blue wire. The diodes are to make sure that if you have the parking lights on, it doesn't turn the low beams on, and the second one is just to be safe to keep the parking and high beam wires separate. So it works that if I have my parking lights on my fogs will come on when I push the switch, the only thing lost is that when I flash my highbeams my foglights stay on. With the stock wiring when you flash your highs the fogs shut off. You could add another relay so that when the highs flash it cuts off the wire if you really felt like it, but I like 6 lights to blind someone if they piss me off, since that's the only time I use my highbeam, because my HID lights up the road plenty.
I just looked at the 03 wiring diagram, From the wiring diagram on HandA it looks like The red with green stripe wire under the hood should go to a parking lamp instead of low beam, then you'll still have the functionality of the fogs turning off when you turn on the high beam. Or if you want it to work like mine where if the fog switch is on and parking lights or higher are on, tap into the blue wire coming off of the switch.
Also after looking at the schematic for mine, if I would have used the yellow wire coming out of the relay under the dash(relay b) instead of the blue wire from the switch I would have hte high beam switching functionality, but I'm happy with the way it is right now.
