i know this is a dumb question but this is the 1st time it turns on what dose it mean?

maybe nothing, use search to find the thread to reset the srs system, and if it comes on again your srs module is going bad

If you took a poll of how many members on this board have their SRS light on...and don't care that it's on anymore, you'd be surprised =]

yeah that's a 5th gen problem too

have you done an LED conversion? unplugging the gauges and turning on the car without the gauges all plugged in can trigger it. also, messing with the airbag system can do so as well. resetting it isnt too hard though, its a breeze with two people, one on the key and one on the paperclip. :)

just search and you will find the thread for resetting... if it comes back on though...then you have a problem.

i hate the srs light can i just take out the bulb?

it's not a buld , it a led. the factory solded on the board. and if u want to take it off. you have to set the cluster apart. last time i want to removed it too., i pull the cluster apart and then i change my mind not to do it. i know my srs on because i has a bac module. i try to reset it a few times but it still on.so i decide keep it on and buy a new module but it's expensive as hell.
it's about 2 and half bones( around $250) and i dont' have that much rite now. so i just leave it alone.
