While most of you would make the "Good List" this year, we don't have the ability to hand out gifts to all of you for making this such a spectacular year here at V6P.net. So, we decided to spread a little Holiday cheer by making it snow for every user, after all, the Holidays are meant to have a little snow on the ground.
Happy Holidays to you and yours from the entire team at V6P.net.

Is it me or this snow thing is slowing up my PC and laptop. The fan on my CPU is going crazyyyy! Can someone check their CPU processes if the Iexplore.exe or firefox.exe is eating up half of the CPU usage.

Even with the added effects, V6P uses 6k less in CPU memory than Acurazine.com

Yea seriously, my browser is sucking 65% cpu right now. It normally takes like 5%, and i only have 8 tabs open. When i close V6P, it drops to 4.5%...
Hmmm...
V6P takes 1.3Ghz now?

Below tests preformed on a Macbook Pro, C2D 2.2Ghz 2GB Mem.
I rebooted and reset the NVram before each test.
Note: Activity Monitor displays 100% overall CPU usage as 200% on a dual core processor, so 70.2% is 35.1% Total available CPU.
Safari 3.0.4 - 70.2%

Firefox 2.0.0.7 - 75.8%

Camino 1.5.4 - 71.3%

Opera 9.24 - 68.3

Opera 9.24 Edited so it wont load the snow... - 1.3%

Well i killed the snow, so i does not kill my battery when i have v6p open in the background and its using 70% cpu... But for other users, they might know how to do that.

It was kinda nice until i noticed my laptop burning my lap and i wasnt doing anything. Maybie get a way to turn it off? If you on a slower computer, it would be using basically 100% cpu... But if you normally use a desktop where how much your leg burns isnt dependent on cpu usuage, maybie its fine for you.

I am on a PII, 400MHZ with 96MB of ram, running IE5.5 and it never hogged anywhere close to those resources. Infact, I removed the JS and it only killed 4K off the usage.

I like it, but it does draw some serious system resources. I dont know how it dosent do it on your computers. But it clearly is doing so on all 4 of my browsers.
And i got enough of that christmassey feeling by looking out the window.. ugh.. such a mess....
It dosent bother me anymore, i disabled it.

It dosent take any noticable additional memmory. Im saying its using 1.5Ghz to display the snow. Even when im not looking at the page. And i allways have v6p open in my browser, minimized. So when my laptop is running on battery power, i get 40-60 mins knocked off my life, a audiable fan noise, and its hot as hell on my bed... Not soo cool.
Im not saying for anyone to take action, and im not really trying to complain. Someone noted thier computer is bogged when viewing the page, and i collected some data to prove hes not crazy.

lol sorry to be a trouble about this. Just love to browse on this website when I have few minutes to spare when I'm at work. When things are slow it is taking up that few minutes that I have. Bringing it back as an option is a great idea.
