one thing that is really effective is some super bright motion sensitive lights. You can get these cheap and if you use a few its a good deterent. IMO they are extremely effective in deterring people from coming around

I really want something like when a motion detector detects someone walking on my driveway, then it will set off a lil alarm so i can be notified. Know if anything similar exists?

ya bro those lights really help and after a while an alarm like that will get really annoying since it'll be going off everytime the light turns on. our light turns on every time someone walks up, if the tree moves alot or if its raining hard. anyways an alarm wouldnt be too hard to add to it, you would just have to figure out how the sensor is wired up on there

Infrared camera (CCTV) is all you need. There are CCTV that a size of a ball point pen that can shoot up to 50 feet. I was in the Security field for 2 years desgning system for the Airports.

In addition to that, get air ride and attach it to your security system. If it goes off the air ride slams down on the criminals feet. **** you not it works

I would punch you in the face if you were my neighboor :P

overly sensitive alarms = completely useless, and infact make the alarm even more useless than not even having an alarm

My neighboor use to have a truck with a ****ing annoying alarm that would go off every day. One day apparently someone broke in and took the truck

Trust me I think all of us where happy when the truck was stolen.. but more importantly, when we heard the alarm go off we actually "ACTIVELY" tried to drone out the noise (closing a windows, turning up the volume on our TV's).

/end rant

for a car i think the most important thing is theft deterrents ( motion sensitive lights, a gas pedal lock, lowjack)

but camera's are not going to stop anyone from stealing a car, and buying a cheap camera = false sense of safety

Unless you drop serious money on a high quality camera system, you are better off spending money on something else

yea i understand completely. Problem here is that the cops are not doing anything to the car thieves. I ask them why, and they say that we dont have any proof/evidence that they actually did the crime. So this is why I would like a camera lol.

To activate a sprinkler system, you will need a flow switch, tamper switch and single tranmitter or dual tranmitter. Then you need to ask yourself what do you need to activate the tranmitters? Then you need to run water line for the sprinkler system.

i would get lowjack and get a steel box that you weld in the trunk with a internal battery that is charged using a battery isolator. then your car may get stolen but you will have them on camera and there GPS position at all times.

swann Pro-620 maybe for night vision and long range?

I think it depends on what features you want - do you want sounds and lights to go off or do you just want video so that if something does happen, you'll have evidence - if the 2nd idea is what you want, you might be able to get by with a glorified webcam. Getting things wired up to notify police or whoever if someone trespasses needs a fair bit of rigging and that would definitely be expensive.
