has anyone with a forced induction car have this or even seen this? i know us buick guys are big on it... we are alcoholics...lol.
what this system does, is the control box for the system is boost sensing, so when if feels the boost level you set it too if kicks on (i have mine set to about 10psi) and it injects alcohol in to up pipe (between the intercooler and throttle body) and what this does, is it evaporates once it is sprayed into the uppipe and it cools down the air mixture... cooler air means you can run more boost. on just strait pump gas you can only run lets say 15-18psi of boost, depending on the situation (how good the gas is, the octane level weather conditions blah blah blah) but with pump gas and alcohol you can run upwards of 23psi! i have it on my car, but i still have to get it tuned right, i havent had a chance, i put it on the car, then the transmission died... oh well it will work one day... and hopfully it will scare me a little bit ![]() so, anyone else ever heard of this alcohol set up before? or is this the first youve heard of it?

Some guys at Maxima.org were fiddling around with Aquamist which would spray a mixture of either water or an alocohol/ethanol blend when running high boost on the Stillen S/C for those cars. Mixed results.

actually alot of people that have incorporated with using hotshot turbos, or stillen aplicatins are using the aquamist spray to help reduce intake air temperature. But its not effective on all cars, its only for those that are running a non conservative boost level. On a turbo charged sentra JWT (Jim Wolf Tech) decided to also follow on what others have done to receive lower air temps on a boosted aplication, and when using water alone on a setup even the smaller aplication can flow a crazy 330cc at 90 psi of pressure
This can also help those with detonation issues on high boost levels. Another impressive thing about a water injection system is when you shoot it at such a fine mist, it acts like a steam cleaner for your engine, and will help to keep your valves and exhaust free of carbon sediments. |
