p0505 Idle Control System Malfunction
it seems since the swap, i fix 1 thing, something else becomes a malfuction
car jumps from 1,000 rpm-2,000 rpm on a slow rev/drop pattern.. should i straight up replace idle control sensor on the throttle body or could cleaning it possibly help?

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Just check for leaks, get news gaskets for everything so TB gasket IACV gasket, possibly IM gasket too, but doubt its the problem. maybe you switched the plugs on the sensors? The TPS and MAP sensor plugs are interchangeable and don't throw up a CEL when switched up at least most of the time it doesn't. The MAP sensor has the grey plug going to it and theblack one is the TPS sensor.
If you think its the IACV try taking the intake off and pluging up the hole for the IACV and see if that affects anything. In general I would clean out the IACV too just to be on the sure side.

I also left my intake air temp sensor unplugged after working on my car one day and it caused this exact same code and problem. Don't ask why that would happen but i plugged it back in cleared the code and it fixed the problem. So maybe check and make sure there isn't a broken wire there or that the sensor is malfunctioning.

any chance this could be cause by bad gas?
I ask because a friend of mine has an 09 civic. he lives in the same apartment complex as me and we use the same gas station, both 93 octane. and his car does the EXACT same thing now.. possibility its the gas? or just coincidence?

I occasionally have the same idle problem, but without the CEL. Have you guys found a solution?
