Angry Drivers seat is loose.

I have seen previous post about loose seats and I thought mine might also be. I have felt a slight shiffting sometimes when talking off and while taking a turn. When I move my seat as far as it will go in either direction front to back, I feel a pop. Yesterday I was cleaning out my car and I found a bolt that had fallen out of the seat from somewhere. It's a good sized bolt also maybe a 17 mm. So I guess I have to take it in and have them look at it.

Mine shifts and move slightly also. I may have them check it out on my next service.

I also have this issue. I am taking it into the dealer next week to have it fixed. They said I just need some part on my front driver power seat; if often shifts when I stop hard.

been a common problem for me after 5 months of getting the car! I'm taking it to my dealer tomorrrow to get this fixed, my radio fixed, my car pulling massively to the right fixed (tired pressure all fine).

Yup...same seat movement here (6spd, Silver '03). Took it to the dealer, they said they tightened some bolts, but I feel no difference....I read somewhere that to totally eliminate this problem, the seat rails needs to be replaced. But gonna be tough to convince Honda to replace it cuz I don't think there's a TSB on this issue yet (but correct me if I'm wrong).

There should be a TSB on this. Mine got loose so I took it in. They ordered a seat track, saying it would have to be replaced. When it came in, they had to order another one, because the one they got was already broken!!

So they finally got a good one in and replaced it. Now three months later, it's happening again This seat track is the biggest piece of sh!t3...

I don't know; I didn't have to argue with them at all; they just said they'd order it.

Sounds like it'll need to be done every six months tho. I'll just plan on getting it done along w/ my automate I guess *grin*

You guys that think you're gonna take this to your dealer and get it fixed: I don't think so.

I took mine to my dealer--and a few other people on this site have too--with no success stories that I can think of. With mine, the service writer basically told me that I could sit on my thumb and rotate.

But seriously, he said "There's some slack in the power seat gears. It's normal." I thought to myself, "Great. It's normal. I therefore shouldn't be mad that my seat shifts in its track." Then I imagined a Tarentinoesque situation whereby I beat the living sh!t out of the service writer--in slow motion--with my car's headrest. As his limp, lifeless head dangled from his shoulders, I said to him very matter-of-factly: There's some slack in your neck, fool.

Here's my success story. I took mine to the dealer and the service rep took my car out for a spin and felt the seat shift. He ordered a new seat tracker, installed it 3 days later, and my seat hasn't shifted since.

The end

You lucky bastard. But anyway, I'm always the voice of negativity. And because of this, I say: Just give it a while and the problem will return.

This was back from September of '03, and still no seat movement. Beat that, voice of negativity!

I had my seat rails replaced at Pacific Honda in San Diego about 3 months ago, hasnt moved since.

I even complained about the wrinkled leather on the side and the Service Manager said to bring it in at 35K miles and do it before the factory warranty runs out. I said, SWEET!! They've been doing my oilchanges since day one.

I'm taking my car in for this same problem, as well as another, tomorrow morning. Thanks for the heads up, voices of negativity. I'll be sure to be ready to hound the dealership if they wont fix it. its a dangerous thing, imagine if you're driving along, have to brake hard, and the thing just slides all the way forward smashing you into the steering wheel because "there is some play" and all the gears stripped out. I'm 100% sure it should not be this way, i think some of the teeth on the gears that move the seat must be worn or broken, as it doesnt happen when the seat is pulled a bit farther forward. I drive my car way up on the wheel so the seat doesnt play, if i put it where i'm comfortable it wont stay put. This WILL be fixed or the BBB and Honda of America will be hearing from me about my dealer. You guys should be the same way, dont let your dealership give you trouble. There is absolutely no excuse for them not to fix this. Ask them for HOA's number, grab your cell phone, and call HOA right there in front of the service manager. I'm tired of this car's stupid problems, no way i'll let this go. You should have the same mentality.

In an ideal world, I wouldn't let this problem go. However, as the world ain't ideal , I'd rather not b!tch to my dealership about every last thing that bugs me about my car. Hell--they already cringe when they see me coming.

<>
I've had my car in to three different Honda dealerships--the original dealership that sold me the car, and two other places when I moved away. Without fail, every single place makes me feel like I'm the biggest pain in the arse if I complain about a rattling headliner, metallic bird chirp noises, clutch snapping, etc. True, if I keep b!tching, sometimes things will get done, but these dealerships just make it so difficult to get satisfaction. I'm sick and tired of visiting the Honda dealer.

If they make you feel like a pain in the ass instead of a customer that needs satisfaction, call HOA and tell them about it. i dont care if they hate my guts, i just want them to fix my car.

I know what you mean. My dealership makes me feel the same way. But, you know what? That's what they're getting paid for. Those lazy bastards wish they could just sit there and have bagels and coffee all day, but I dropped $40,000 in that dealership in 6 months (we bought a Civic last year, too) so I think I deserve to be taken care of. Put it this way: without us, they have no jobs.
