There's a reason why all the newer trailers have bumper cross bars very low on the back end, so that it's more like hitting a brick wall then the car getting sheared in half.
Cars are designed to crumple, not be cut in two ![]() |

i didnt find an article the pictures were just posted on some other forums i surf and i posted them here. so im unsure of the story but if anyone does find it i hope you can let others know. anyway my prayers just go out to that guys family, its a tragedy.

i dont get it there on the side of the road so what was the truck parked and the vette lost contorl n hit a parked semi like that dosnt make sense, if the truck was moved the vette woudnt be in that position

The ICC bumper (circled in 3rd pic) helps with low speed impacts but they snap if you hit them hard enough.
It also looks like the tandems (rear wheels are movable) got shoved up, you don't normally drive around with them all the way up like that. Note the lower edge of the trailer you can see the movable range for them. Looks like the truck was parked and loaded on the shoulder. Who knows what the vette was doing? |

majority of guys that drive Vette's should be in their 40's to 50's, but i had no idea what could of caused this. I feel sorry the family he probably left behind, but thank god they weren't in the car. Much love out there for him and his family
