Maintenance required light

Well, my maintenance required light turned yellow a couple of weeks. Checked the owner's manual under severe conditions and it says the next maintenance should be at 75k. Right now I have 73,300. Can I wait out till 75 or should I go to the dealer asap? Is it normal for the light to come on this early?

its not really a light, it is just a colored piece that turns after a certain period of time. to reset it all you have to do is stick your key in the switch next to it.

I've kinda wondered what it meant. I have about.. 110K on my car. It's been tuned up around 90, but the color tab keeps showing up. regular oil changes every 3-4k. It it really anything to worry that much about?

that is not anything to worry about at all
it works with your odometer
every time you do an oil change - reset it
if it goes yellow - time for an oil change ( hopefully you'd do it before )

how many miles does it take for the indicator to turn yellow? and red? Mine is red right now. I did an oil change but didn't reset it so its cool. I'm just wondering if any else needed to be done when it is red.

it isnt based oil oil changes or anything like that. Once it is reset it will go for so many miles before it comes on again. It is just a notice that you might want to have regular maintanence done soon. Not oil changes, but maintanence like belts and tune ups and ish. But if you keep up with this stuff yourself than dont worry about it. otherwise take it to your dealer when it comes on, and let them know you just want your regular check up done.

The Maintenance Required Light will turn yellow at every 7,500 miles when it exceeds 7,500 miles it will turn red.

Its just a feature that reminds you that your car is due for its regular scheduled maintenance
