ABS light goes on

I am wondering if anyone has had this problem before and how they took care of it. I have a ABS light that will go on when driving from time to time and stay on until the engine is shut off. It doesn't always go on, but does from time to time. I checked the level of the brake fluid and it was ok, and also checked the level of the fluid in the abs unit and it was at max. I do notice what sounds like a pump go on in that area when I first start the car, and it will go on from time to time while driving for a short interval, any ideas? I am wondering if maybe air might have gotten into the system, or perhaps check for un even wear of the pads at each wheel? I just thought I would ask in case some one has run into this problem.

that happened to me. I went to Honda, got them to look at it. Nothing was wrong, they just hadto reset it. But they said if it came on again, that the airbags may deploy at any time, blah blah blah, I would have to get the ABS system replaced, estimated.. $700 without labor cost. So my light is still on after a year, and I don't think I could go a day without seeing my ABS light on

could be fluids, and it could be the abs sensor. or a stone in the sensor.

flush your fluids - I had an air pocket in mine
I did the following :
remove the fuses
bleeded out the brakes
reset the abs controller
drive with the handbrake up in the first position for 2 mins around the block then put the brake down

working now perfectly, but I disable the ABS because I detest the locking feeling in the winter

where did u go for ur mataince? I went in for a tune up at this one shop and 2 weeks later my starter died. Sometime I think mechanics intentionally break stuff so u go back in for repair .

I finally decided to do a brake job on it and noticed on the rear wheel passenger that 1 pad was wore quite a bit more than the other. It was also wearing at a sort of angle, rather than flat across the surface. I changed the rotors (went with brembo's) and while doing the fronts I came across that both outside dust boots on the shafts where torn and tossing there grease out and dirting the rear of the rotor cover. I am wondering now if this had anything to do with my light coming on perhaps a greased sensor? I still have not finished as I had to order the boots and am waiting for them to arrive, and also went ahead and ordered a new timing belt since all though the old belt did not show breakage or wear at 108000 I thought I might as well replace it....

I will say good luck on that one, had that happen and the stealership wanted over 500 to replace the board, needless to say it stays on all the time, well maybe it may change once I connect battery back up after doing the work I am doing now, but if it doesn't well no biggie. A 91 Accord with close to 200,000 miles on her had the charging lamp go on, well stealership wanted big bugs to replace alternator turned out all it need was new brushes (under $5) and I went to a local parts place (not kragen or autozone) bought the brushes and soddered them on myself....
