CV joint Replacement

Anyone familiar with replacing CV joints? Mine tore all the way around. Checked it out when I started hearing some metal on metal grinding while driving and saw that a lot of the grease had come out from the ripped boot. Well any advice would be great. Thanx guys

Picking up a new axle hopefully later tonight or tomorrow... how long did it take you guys to replace it? Anything in particular give you guys trouble in the process? Sorry guys I've NEVER done this b4 but have a mechanic friend who was supposed to help... but he took a spill on his bike and is sitting this one out. Thanx for any help you guys can give me

I know its kinda late but all infos are good regardless of time.

Don't use fork, u'll bust your ball joint boot. Just get a pry bar and place it between the lca and the knuckle and hit the bar with a hammer. 4 hits and it will pop. No worries about busting boot because the procedure doesn't go anywhere near it.
