URGENT!!! Windows wont go up!!

Ok well I get in my car tonight go make my way home from a buddys house and I roll down my windows as usuall during a nice night and then I go to roll them back up and nothing happens (except my drivers window does go up). This really is ironic b/c i was just looking at getting new motors and regulators for the two front windows b/c they move up so slow after being used so much (I would rather have windows down then use AC in town).

So I check the fuses for the power window relay and it is perfectly fine........what am i missing or do i get to replace the whole switch board in the drivers door????

***And the dealer wanted $174 a piece for window regulators and labor would be $164 for both to be installed so that makes a total of $500+........just to have faster windows.....CAN I SAY RIP OFF!!!!

ive got the slow window issue, im not sure but if you take apart the door you might be able to either crank the mechanism back up or detach the window from the mechanism just to make it stay up till its fixed.

clean your window tracks
they short outthe modulators / relays because they get full of crap
it use to take me like 15 seconds to close my windows
now it takes like 8 seconds - never changed anything

you have to remove the screw in the interior handle, slide it foreward and pull out, disconnect the electrical connections and the metal bar for the door mechanism. remove the screw in the bottom of the hand hold and remove that. (only on front doors) pull off the black cover for the side view mirror and use a flat head screw driver on the little circular cap like thing near the hinge, the rest of the door is held on with pop rivets, i like to start with a corner and work my way around with the screw driver. then lift up and out, be careful about the wire for the courtesy light, unplug that too and put the panel somewhere.

the same goes for the back doors but remove the black thing at the back of the doors and i dont thing the circular cap thing is on them.

the drivers door works the same as the passenger door but the window controls make it a little tricky be patient and it should come out fine.

i can try to scan the pages from my haynes manual if you want

Take out your window switches and theyre likely clogged with crap. Get a toothbrush and rubbing alochol and go to town. Get the inside of the switches relly clean, let it dry a few mins and put it back...

Should work, but you might need new ones...
