Thoughts on Eclipse for my Ride ?

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm looking to spend about $1k and am considering the following:

Front Components:
http://www.eclipse-web.com/products/...nt/sc8362.html

Rear 6x9's:
http://www.eclipse-web.com/products/...nt/sp8992.html

50w x 4 Amp:
http://www.eclipse-web.com/products/amp/ea3422.html

I can get all the items above, plus misc. line-outs, wiring, etc...installed for a little over $1k ?

Thoughts on the Eclipse lineup appreciated.

tim

The components are $350
The 6 x 9's are $220
The amp is $250
The line-outs are $40
Monster Cable, misc....$70
Labor $200

Total Hardware is just over $1,000 and this local shop is known for class A work. After some discounts, the install of it all is basically free. My total OTD is $1,033

I didn't think that was too bad. I certainly don't have the time to play with it all.

That's definitely not a bad deal. I've got their lower line of stuff in my car, SE-8394 6x9s and SE-8363 6.5s. I really wanted the components for the front, but since I'm not a real car audio buff, I couldn't justify the $350

i think it will sound good and is a decent price if u dont have the time or knowledge to make it work
make sure they snake the cables thru the door corresctly and add some mdf to the door

prob is, with any installation in a shop, quality is never as good as if the owner did it. so u, if u have trust in the guy, go for it

so you added nothing but bass to the stock system? no offense but BLECK!!! the weakest part of the stock system is the drivers themselves. I just helped a friend put some CDT classics up front and alpine 6x9s in the rear with an xtant 604 to power them in an accord and it sounds pretty damn nice, no chest pouding bass, but great midbass and crystal clear. The stock deck really isn't as awful as people make it out to be, like I've said before, it's just what you do with it. Also, not everyone isn't into boooooom boooooom boooooom and not hearing anything else.

just checked some eclipse speakers on ebay :

component speakers : $179 + 20 shipping .. the 6.5" prolly $20-$40 more.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=32818

the 6 x 9 " : $ 100 + shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14942

the amplifier : $ 164 + $24 shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=4950

if u can wait around 1-2 weeks for the shipping...u can save $300-$400

Tempting, but I'm not at all a fan of e-bay. I'm sure most transactions are safe, but I'd litterally fly out and capture and kill someone hunting them down if I ever got ripped and I can't afford the jail time. Even a small risk isn't worth it to me. Thanks though!

You can get much better components for $350. Do some research, maybe some Focals or CDT eurosports.

Oh yea, it is rather hard to get components to sound halfway decent in the doors without some level of sound deadning.
