whats size Cap.

ive got a box, a 1000W amp, 2 800W 10s, an crossover, stock HU, im gonna upgrade the factory speakers, i am thinking about getting a seperate amp for my main speakers and letting 500W run to each sub, or run 250W to the subs and split the other 500W 4 ways for my speakers. its a 4 channlel amp. my question is.
i think im gonna need a supressor, but what size capacitor should i get. the most i think ill run if i get another amp is 400W.
do i need a 1 farad Capacitor or can i go less and save some money? or will i need more.

with what I read, I think 1 farad would be ideal for 1000watts, and .5 is for 500 watts.

caps do work. my headlights flicker if i dont have my cap on.

the difference between the 2 is that one shows u the voltage and one doesnt. unnessesary to buy the digital if your just a person that likes music. digital looks better in shows and such

I used to have about 1000W RMS running through my car and had a .5F cap on it and never felt any voltage drops or spikes.

If you are looking for a cheap "name brand" cap, I will sell you my old Stinger .5F cap for $25 + s/h.

I would have to agree that caps do work. I have a phoenix gold reactor which pulls some serious current and b4 the cap if the bass hit deep my lights would dim to the point of not even being on. After the cap it was so much better. I still ended up smoking the stock alternator but oh well reason to get a new one. Here is a link to the cap I have its made by alumapro and is 15 farads. Yes thats 15 not 1.5. I got a long time ago and payed like 390 or so for it but I know now there like almost 500 bucks or so. alumapro

ROFLMAO!!!!

And until I see some tests that prove Mr. Richard Clarke wrong, I still say caps do next to nothing. Get another battery, that would be more beneficial.
