just bought 2-Audiobahn ALUM12x subs...

The subs I bought are rated at 1000 watts RMS each, so that's 2000 watts RMS altogether. I don't have a lot of money to spend, and have only about $200-250 to spend on an amp right now that can easily power 2000 watts. If you know anybody who has a decent amp, or can tell me what some decent amps are, I'd appreciate it. Or if you know someone in the Norcal area who wants to sell their 2000+ watt amp for less than $250, have them e-mail me or PM me whenever they can.

I dont understand why ppl think that the hardest hitting rides that win IASCA champions use 2000-3000watt subs... 500-700watts is perfect when the amp/sub/box are tuned correctly.

anyways.. I digress... why would you buy insanely high wattage drawing subs when you arent able to afford a decent amp to power them? I dont see the logic.... 2000watt amp for $250... I see Jensen, Pyrimid, lanzar in your future.

Maybe next time... try pre-planning before you get caught up in the "highest watts must be best" hype... you couldve had a great setup with 2 nice 12s and a properly tuned ported box and a decent 600-800 rms watt amp.

I didn't buy the audiobahns because of their high-wattage, I bought them because I've heard them in cars before and they sound great. I actually have around $400 to spend on an amp, but I'm trying to save my money to buy a new throttle body for my car. As soon as my paycheck rolls in next week, I'll have another $180 in my account to spend, but for now, I'm on a tight budget.
