I've tried bending the metal thing every which way but can not get it to sit flat.

i had that same problem. the whole thing popped out and i had a hard time putting it back in. i took the thing out and sanded around the edges to make it fit better.

edit: i sanded mainly on the left and right sides. not top and bottom

u could sand the right n left. i think it's just how the dash kit is. i belive mine is similar too, but either not that much or not enough for me to notice it too much.

i had the same problem when i got mine installed at circuit city. it had a lil gap after a week or so...so i brought it back to circuit city and they exchanged it for me free

hmm i have that same problem too...it doesnt really bug. i work at best buy and we changed it out with some other kits, but it still has that gap. by the way...i like your deck. i got the same one
