18's tire sizes..?

Hey for those of you that got 18's what tire sizes did you get?

I was thinking of 235/40/18...what do the rest of you guys have? A technical question now...
I got a friend that has 235/40/18 and 225/40/18...Nitto 555's. He is willing to sell me these but they are different sizes...how will this affect cars spedo? Which tires should i put in the front? Please help!

ive had 245/40/18s on my car and they were too big, the cars spring rubbed the sidewall of the tire. I went with 225/40/18 and they are fine. Dont rub at all. Handles a lot better, Nitto 555 are nice and all no doubt about that, but in wet they dont seem to grip as much as I expected a Z rated tire to grip. This is my first set of Z rated tires and I can tell you my Potenza 950's (not 18's) gripped a lot better, they made the car handle better also.

your friends tires are still both 40.18s, so they are the same sidewall and of course the same diameter. the 235 and 225 are the width, which shouldnt really effect the speedo at all.

Nitto Neogen 225/40/18 for me...

I got the same size tires all around so I could rotate w/o problems (says a non-tire expert )...

Not true. The "40" is the aspect ratio.

Width x Aspect Ratio = Sidewall Height.
