People with 18's i need your advice

Hi, i'm thinking about getting some 18's with 235/40/18 tires but i'm curious if anybody has bent wheels from daily driving like hitting potholes of anysize to driving over speed bumps. Cuz i really want 18's but i don't want them if i have to drive so slow to prevent damage to them. Any opinions are welcome.

i have 225.40.18s and i have a bubble in one tire, but thats about it. i wouldnt know about any slight bend til i get new tires on them, but i dont have any real problems. 235.40s will have more of a sidewall too than mine, so u should be ok. just be alert when you drive. it will take some getting used to.

With 235/40's you're going to have to drive more carefully than with your stock 205/60's...stock tires on accords are like puffy marshmellows, and of course those tires can take a lot more abuse than low profile 18s. 235/40-18s simply arent going to provide that much cushion to avoid damage to your wheels if u hit a big pothole. You wont have to drive ur accord like it's a glass car, but you will have to be careful to avoid road hazards...and with 40 series tires, you will eventually have to repair ur rims, it's just a matter of time before u nail a pothole. I live in Boston, and during the winter months, the roads are terrible!
