What do I need to make type r components fit?

Im about to buy some type r components and I need to know what I need as far as spacers and such to make them fit in my 99 v6 coupe? I know a lot of people have done this install but I would just like to go out and buy everything I need so I dont have a taken appart door for too long. Also should I buy 6.5s or 6 3/4? thanks

all you need is MDF spacers for them to fit in the stock speaker locations. i forgot how large though. maybe 1/2" or 3/4" but don't take my work on it.

i just got some type R's too, and i'm getting 3/4" MDF spacers from mr. marv bc that seems like the consensus for the depth (i haven't taken apart the door and actually tried fitting it yet). also if you notice, the type R's is bigger than normal 6.5s, so L_fty told me to get self-tapping sheet metal screws to make new holes to screw in the speakers to the doors.
i dunno, im probably gonna try installing it over xmas break. tell me how ur install goes

nope... speakers will get a tad wet and even moist.. but most automobile speakers are made with cones that are protected from the elements... if your speaker's cone isnt made from paper or even treated paper you'll be fine... for those that are.. I would use the foam baffles.. but with the ends cut off... we wouldnt want to mess with the infinite baffle that was created by sound deadening the door thus killing midbass....
