Intelliglow needles?

What do you guys think of this?
I just kind of stumbled upon this and I'm wondering if you guys have seen/used this before. It looks pretty cool, seems a little pricey though.

I just put my gauges back together and from what i know about gauges and lighting the only way that you could get the needles to be different from the dial is to retrofit the housing wiht flat LED's to light the dial.

then construct a light block (a light proof cylinder to go from the dial plate to the back of the internal housing) this will allow you to plant different colored LED's inside of the light block right below the light output for the needle.

you would have to get about 4 flat LED's in the 8,000 mcd itensity range per needle plus you would have to wire in a power source.

all in all it ='s a big pain in the ass.

exactly

although a bigger problem is the price. 120 dollars for shiny needles...

Those look pretty ****ing sick... a little too bright in the first pic, tho.
My only concern is price + those needles are damn sensitive... swappin them out might be a touchy job...
