Lightbulb Adding Lights to your interior...w/fading option

I've searched to no avail. Basically, I've seen pictures of members adding these lights bars (from threads like these) to their footwells, trunk, license plates, etc. I've even seen someone try to wire their map lights to the ceiling lights (like this old thread).

What I'm trying to find out is if it is possible to wire these additional lights to the dome light that fades in/out on lock/door close.

For example, to have the light tubes in the footwell turn on with the dome light when the door is opened, and fade back off when it is closed. And if wiring the map lights to the ceiling lights is also possible.

the cheapest way i could think of is 97 crv has a separated ignition key light module it would not fade in however would fade out after approx. 10sec. i believe this part is quite easy to pick in junk yard.

Actually, fading out would be the only thing I'd want. If fading in is too much of an issue, then so be it.

Just wire it to your dome light.

Im not sure if CCFLs can fade in and out [the have their own fade when they turn off though and it lasts like 2 1/2 seconds]

I had some puddle lights wired to my dome lights and they faded with my dome light.

CCFLs don't fade, LEDs don't either.

Where/how would I wire it? How did you wire your puddle lights?

I had to take down the headliner to get to the wiring of the dome light.

My puddle lights were tucked in the side skirt and then up the fuses boxes on each side of the car then behind the front pillars then ran above the headliner and I just spliced the wires to the positive and negative wires and put the headliner back in place.

I took off the puddle lights cuz they were amber instead of white and im not VIP enough haha

Not necessarily, but I wanted them to fade out with the dome light.

I wired mine to my dome light and they turn on when I unlocked my car. They turn on when I leave my car and fade off or if I hit the lock button they instantly turn off.

I just bought some LED's and from Sylvania web site they say the 7443 size will work for the map and dome light? Has anyone gotten the 7443 for map and dome for a honda accord coupe 2007.

When I open my doors they turned on and when I closed the doors they would stay on for like a couple of seconds and then fade off with the dome light =]

Mine do. I have a bunch of 3mm LEDs soldered together (ghetto style) and I replaced my interior lights for ****s and giggles and they fade out like they're supposed to. I have them in my map lights, door lights and dome light. I just figured out the correct number of LEDs to use to make 12V safe and I soldered them together and plugged them in.
