Window Tint in NJ

im getting my windows tinted tomorow and have the option of doing the front windows but its "illegal" to have tint on the front windows in New Jersey yet i see it around all the time. does anyone have all their windows tinted and had bad experiences with front tint in NJ with cops?

I lived in jersey and the only problem I ever had was when I went to get my car inspected. I'm sure you can find someone to "PASS" it for you though lol

Neighbors get tickets all the time, make sure you ride with the windows down by cops and when inspected leave them all the way down. They have never checked mine. If the interior is black go with 35% it will allow the cops to see through and looks good when done right. I had that done to my prelude and never had any issues, but again go with your own judgement. If you get ticketed don't blame me man.

I had mine tinted 20% all around and had to take the illegal section off by court order. usually its a $55 ticket but if the cop is a jerk he can circle "mandatory court appearance" this means u need to: 1) take it off 2) get it inspected and 3) go to court and prove u did this.(this all cost me around $200 when it was said and done) it was in freehold township. it all depends on the town youre in...where i live the cops have bigger fish to fry so u can drive around with 5% and no one will bother u. there IS however a way around it which i am working on...just contact me on AIM if u wanna know cuz its completely illegal and a little bit of work to pull off but im guessing its fool proof

I got 5% on my back and 50% on my doors. ive been pulled over 5 times for them in just over a year and a half. but they are more likely to pull you over and add that on if you were speeding/no blinker/ other moving violations and stuff. but where i live the cops have nothing else to do so they see my car and have to pull me over lol

Have I got tint stories!
however i didn't START getting tickets til the recession 2008
but had tint for 8 yrs then suddenly
the township over from my job gave me
tickets for tint every month when goinig to work, lunch or home
then I stopped going through their town + they were giving me
no front plate tickets - after I stop going through then STATE
TROOPERS were pull'n me over (well twice)
so I took off the front tint and put on a front plate
no more problems

I was driving Rt 280 West 2 lanes
NJ Trooper finished up with ticket writing in emergency lane
Mini Van, and Maxima in front of me
trooper pulls out and all three of us get in left lane
HE PULLS OFF SLOOOOWWLY - I STILL didn't want to pass him
BUT all three of us pass and get back in Right lane
Trooper pulls up and passes
my tinted windows are up, Remus sounds great, no front plate
TWO cars follow right behind Trooper
Trooper gets almost past the mini van B4 his breaks come on
my brain screemed F***!!! I just knew it
all traffic slows down, three of us pass him on his right
he waits for me AND gets in position and lights!!
I pulled you over because no plate and tint usually means something is wrong
SERIOUSLY DUDE! really!
Nothin wrong here officer? here's my paperwork
no points on the license, not suspended or warrents
ok sir I'll check and be right back
he went back, sat down, and picked up the ticket book
again brain screems F***!!!
Tinted window ticket

Yea Ė like years ago I was approached to
get this symbol or emblem, icon? UmmÖthen must be symbol
on my insurance card
Some guy in Newark or East Orange, or one of them high crime areas
can draw or print this symbol on my insurance card
the symbol means I have some eye sight problem and the tint is allowed
But I didnít buy into this story
cause the guy wanted $200 or maybe $100 AND the guy telling me
this DIDNíT have on his insurance card Ė but was tellín me
he was passenger with a friend who did do it and the cop
let him go and didnít give him a tinted window ticket
HA AH HA yea right!!
AND I'd have to do this every year at insurance renewal time

or you can apply 2B a rescue vehicle then you can get tint AND strobes
drive around all day with that ish on!!
LOL
