m3 lip spoiler

allright i just finished painting and clearcoating my m3 lip trunk spoiler and I really want to mount it. My question is: Will the 3m double side tape be a considered a permanant solution to mounting this? Only reason why I am asking is becaust most OEM trunk lid spoilers seem to be bolted through the trunk lid and that got me thinking.

Get the industrial strength 3M double sided tape. The grey, foamy tape with the red adhesive backing. That'll hold it on for sure.

Yea, that is about all you can mount that thing with. What sucks though is that with time, the ends start to lift up.

It will be fine man, that's how mine is held on and it is very sturdy. You can get automotive 3M tape at Autozone and stuff too, it's pretty strong.

Go to automotive paint shop they also have a type of alcohol for paint that's 99.9 percent pure and safe for paint just to get all the wax and gunk off. Make sure that the trunk is nice and warm where you want it to stick I usually use a heat gun and stick it down than let it cool off and it should stick like it was bolted on there. you can also have the car parked in the sun you get the same effect but you have to park it somewhere cool after you stick it on. Don't cool it with water it will shrink the tape and peel up and if you leave it in the sun without cooling it will stay sticky than peel up.
