Best SUB setup with $1000

So I saved up $1000 and want to put subs in my accord. What is the best setup I can have, with money left for installation? And I think I am going to b buy this head-unit, Alpine CDA-105, and I want 2 Subs but still want to be able to access the spare tire. So any suggestions?

really depends on the type of music you listen too..if you just want bass or Sound Quality.and with the setup right, you can make one sub outperform 2.
so for bass and no sound quality i loved my 12" kicker L7 powered by an Hifonics 750watt mono amp.
but for bass WITH great sound quality i loved my 12" JL audio W6 with a 1000watt MTX thunder amp..

but it all comes down to box design, and what i listed earlier..

well..from my personal experience.my kicker produced alot of bass just for one 12.
so possibly a ported box..with 2 kicker L7s..and one a kicker amp to power them. and install your self?

ebay:
Box-$70.00
12" Kicker L7-$189.00(each) free shipping
and for an amp..search for your price range..kicker amps are very expensive, but put out the power ratings they say they are..unlike other 1000watt amps putting out 250watts.

if REALLY looking for insane bass go with a DD95012g sub with custom (made to specs) ported box, MTX TE-1501D amp and 1/0 AWG wires.

if you're looking for a sub thats just slightly cheaper, go with Image Dynamics IDMax 12 with same amp setup. i had this a while back in my car and had enough bass to have my windshield move back and forth.

all this should push up against the $900-$1000 range...oh and you'll need a new battery. Optima Yellow Top for this type of setup.

and why 12 inch and not 15. I like bass that you can hear a block away that shakes everything

15's would be very tight fitting in our accords. you can probably fit one but the box may have to be custom.take measurements of your trunk and look at boxs to see if itl fit or not. but remember the trunk its self is bigger than its opening.ha

/\ very true!...better learning how to do all this yourself than having to pay people over and over to do it.

edit: price range and stuff i listed above was for just 1 sub...you wont be needing 2 subs with that kind of install IMO. this way it saves some trunk space and weight since you do want to access your spare.

also our radios are one of the easiest to get in/out..and wire up..only hard part is finding an opening in the firewall to run the power wire!

lol i changed the cabinfilter with maninder, aka on this forum 1fastJ30A1 we couldnt remove the bottom plastic cover under the glove box, then maninder pulled and snapped it in half lol. The thing is, this car is in near perfect condition and i just see myself ruining it by doing it myself. If i know what parts to buy, and i can set it up inside my garage, and my car was really messed up, i would doit my self. i just would rather have some professional doit so i dont break everything.

so i should get 12z hmm now what is a good company to get them from and which amp should go with it?

and do i need like a dc to ac power converter or something?

finally can someone tell me exactly what i would need? so far i think it is...

Head-unit that has pre-amp out
Subwoofers and a box for it
AMP
wires

thats it?

Now do I need to buy new speakers for the doors? Because they sound really weak, or is that just the stock head unit?

well u said your all about the bass, so the stock speakers should be fine. When my buddy installed a alpine head unit into his 6th gen, the speakers sounded noticeably louder.

And as far as the install goes, if you really have no idea what ur doing, then i suggest getting a buddy that does, and just doing it with him. Places charge the **** outta you for installs

After looking around, i can probably doit. I can get creative with the way I do things, but I might be able to install it. Im assuming all I need to do is get a box, install the speakers in there, i can google how to do that. Then i connect the headunit to the amp via a rca cable that runs from the back of the HU to the trunk, that might take a while but I might be able to get that done. The trouble is, how to get power, I'm clueless. finally connect the sub to the amp and im guessing that is all i do.

I changed a head unit before but it was an American car and was just remove 2 screws, pull out, cut wires, match the colors and done. These asians are so delicate.

I <3 you too Maninder......

the power cable to the amp is a *****, u have to go through ur firewall, or drill a hole in it and run it all the way to ur trunk

Digital Designs 3512 matched up with an Arc Foose 1200.1

It's for sale by the way as I'm upgrading my entire system.

put that sucker in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to about 34-35 and it will sound good

I used this to run my power wire through the firewall, it seals it up fine.

ha yes, theres tons of holes in the firewall.most have plugs over them.but some are reachable some arnt.

i have 2 holes i run wires through..one is below the master cylinder;VERY hard to get to. It comes out top left corner above clutch pedal area.
and one is behind the throttle body area. There is a black plug along with some yellow padding.just stick something through it to tear it.comes out top right above gas pedal area.
