post with some update when you turbo your car. i only seen supercharger but not turbo on dyno. noobie question: is it better with supercharge or Turbo? i've search around and the member in here could only reach around 300 hp with S/C but never heard about turbo. sigh*

Just from what I've gathered from lurking around most of the turbo/SC threads here and on 6GA, most V6s go SC because its not as hard on the 4spd auto tranny, and there is less fab work to be done to get it running. Also, with an SC, the power increase is "even" throughout the powerband. I think it's more popular with some J-series because our cars feel very slow when accelerating from a stop, and the SC helps with that.

A turbo on the J-series (or any motor) is better when coupled with a standard transmission, because you'll have more control over gear changes. This means you'll be less likely to over-rev, which lowers the risk of busting the engine or tranny. Also, because the turbo needs to spool up before putting power down, launching from a dig is slightly slower. However, turbos seem to be able to make significantly more power than most SCs. Plus, you can't beat the BOV sound! I think I remember seeing a thread about someone doing a twin-turbo setup on a J-series? I think turbos are also slightly harder to maintain?

Could someone with experience chime in?

well for me i really like the SC sound but the thing about our car (j series) it doesnt have a lot of internal mod for the engine. our header is aluminium which we have more chance of blown heads. when going for a SC, the car accelerate fast but we waste more gas. while turbo save fuel but it have turbo lag. in between both are great depending how you drive or race. SC for a fast short distance race while turbo is longer distance. PS. i didnt know we could twin turbo our cars. oh yeah, have anyone dyno their av6 turbo before? cuh i want to know the number

one question? could i use any t3/t4 turbo (universal) or only certain made for our car model?

a T3/T4 would do fine in a small single turbo or a huge twin turbo set up.

and cheify this is looking awesome!
