anyone with a 6th gen with STATUS seats?

Just curious if any of the 6th gen guys are running any of the STATUS seats (I searched "status seats" within the 6th gen forum but didn't get any hits). If so, which mounting brackets are you using? I'm looking at a set of Ring GTs, and I love the look of the STATUS brackets but it appears they're not exactly compatible with our cars. I have a set of Wedge Engineering brackets lying around somewhere, I guess the worst-case scenario is I'll run those. Thanks guys.

i was almost gonna start a thread on bucket seats today...

it seems like as long as you have a bracket that can bolt to the floor pan, you can modify it to fit any rail / seat slider out there.

im probably just going to make my own. im not paying $100+ / side for some bar stock thats welded together with some bent ends lol.

You just need a seat base from Wedge, or make your own.

Then get some generic sliders with side mounts and you should be set. I'm assuming the Status side measurements are along the same as Recaro/Sparco?

Status seats are nice but I heard their customer service sucks lol.

If you're the first though it'll be sick! In for more info.

Yeah, I have those seat bases already...just awaiting the delivery of the seats before I can see if they measure up. Also, from looking at the dimensions of the seats between STATUS/Recaro/Sparco...the STATUS Ring GT seats are a bit wider in some areas, and they all seem to exclude the actual measurement for the base area (so I compared the lower cushion measurements instead).

RECARO: Speed (picked the Speed seat from Recaro for comparison purposes since that seat has been known to fit within our specific cars and is equivalent to the DC2-R seats)

Figured out the mounting dilemma. The best/easiest way is to purchase the STATUS side mounts as well as their sliders, then just mount that setup to the Wedge Engineering bases. It's tough finding any good deals on the side mounts and sliders, but since the seats have arrived I don't have much choice but to find them or buy them retail.

Ehh...not sure, I don't care much about fads if you know anything about me (hence why I've never gotten into the oem lip kits, roof racks, etc.). The main reason I chose the STATUS Ring GTs were that they were wider than any of those other brands you just mentioned. I'll never have a 32 waist or weigh 130 pounds, and I'd like to ride in comfort. I've had Recaros (equivalent to their Sportline brand I believe, although they were customized a bit for the 2009+ Mazda RX-8 R3s), I've had BRIDEs (the Ergo IIs, which were one of their wider seats at the time but still not the least bit comfortable for a ride longer than 15 minutes), and I wouldn't have minded a set of Sparco Milano 2s in Alcantara, but I came across a better deal on this set. To each his own.

Yeah, I'm a 36 waist and I easily fit into my new seats. My friend is a 40 waist and he also didn't have trouble and said he could see himself sitting in the seats for a long trip without any problems.

I remember when my girlfriend first got the RX-8 R3 with the nice Recaros, and even at a 36 waist I was basically sitting on the side bolsters instead of just the bottom cushion. Not cool. The Bride Gias (probably the model your friend had) are even worse

BTW Eric, I couldn't find any definitive pics of bucket seats in 6th gen accords. A few with the RSX or EP3 seats, but nothing aftermarket.

the only car i can seem to find is steves...

the only thing im worried about is clearance, i have an amp under my passenger seat. im not sure if bucket seats sit lower or not, i dont really have anohter location to relocate the amp to.

Yes, I have some Brides... Wedge works but have to make the sliders work takes some forcing and pushing to make it work..

and seat bracket would work with all seats its the sliders that matter... usually you can make the slider work with all seats..

Yeah, like the others have said...that clearance issue is irrelevant to the seat style. It all depends on the base you use (presumably the Wedge Engineering bases), and then which sliders you accompany them with. I'm not sure how big your amp is, but couldn't you just slide it back a foot into the backseat foot area in the worst-case scenario? lol
