Dash Question

i want to take out my dash to paint it and make a fiberglass molding of it, but the only thing is i have no idea how to take it out, i have looked around it for points of connection but all the screws seem to be facing a weird position, was wondering if anyone has removed their entire dash or knows how where the screws are to remove it? i have a 2001 sedan

i'd get a manual. it should show you where all the screws are and stuff.
When i was thinkin of painting my dash i looked into it... looks like alot of screws, but it cant be too bad seeing how many people have DIY painted dashes

oh god, this is my thread:

that was the biggest pain in the butt ever. If you really, really want to spend about 12 hours for removal and install, go for it. You need the factory manual which you can get from eBay for about $45.

The one thing that the Helms doesn't say is about the steering column after everything is undone. You need to remove a bolt from the lower universal joint to get the dash to come out. I was going to have the dash out, but we just left it on the seats. I think to get it out you should take the seats out too.

I don't recommend this unless you:

A) don't have heat or A/C
B) like wasting a weekend or more
C) don't mind screwing with the SRS system
D) have a lot of beer on hand

If I were to do it again, it would probably take 8 hours, and the "b" bolts under the steering column are labeled "b" for a reason. If you do it, take it slow

By the way, the dash is heavy too!
