my opinion is type r's... more for the american type music listening... infinity's GREAT for classical and strong mid's... type r's are more tuned for overall IMO>

LOL I remember a statement awhile back on elitecaraudio about a dude stating that MBQs are the only speakers that reproduce "black" music accurately. Boy did a argument ensue that day. anyways... type R's have better midbass but a little hollow on the midrange while the kappas have better midrange but are hollow on midbass. CDT Audio HDs have a better all around sound with midbass and midrange up to par. As for speakers that sound better with particular music... I partially agree but I believe the major factor of any speaker sounding as good as it does is the crossover network that relays what information each speaker is given.

again let's not categorize particular music to particular drivers. But if you are loking for better midbass punch then the type-Rs are for you...albeit they are deeper drivers with better exursion... LOL and dont even bother with Xmang results like some ppl swear by

Kappa Perfect > kappa > reference

reference is LOW end infinity.

also between two and three way it depends on the drivers and how well they do their job. I've heard two ways that absolutely destroy 4 ways, I've heard 3 ways that absolutely smoke 2 ways. For me with a reasonable crossover I like three ways the best, most that I've heard give better warmth and presence than their 2 way counterpart(like CDT HD642 versus CDT HD62) As far as coaxial driver, go listen to some and see what your ears like and your wallet likes at the same time. Everyone has their own preference.

If you insist on infinity, in an accord I'd use Kappa Perfect 6.1 components, but for me personally if you're going to spend that much i'd head over to http://www.thezeb.com and pick up a set of CDT HD-62EF instead, MUCH more bang for the buck, or for a little less money a set of CL-61a.

Vifa MG errr CDT AUdio hands down are muuuuch better than anything infinity has in their lineup... sorry to say... I know that Vifa also supplys infinity their home audio drivers with CMMD technology but even those have horrible breakup in the critical lower midrange.... yuck

But if you do decide infinity the Kappas seem to be the less annoying of the series while the perfects seem like they came of the MBQ tweeter boat.. *ouch* at high volumes... or anything close to a female tone...

lol.. you gota allot to learn... midbass and midrange typically differ, but midbass can fall into midrange.

you have Lo, Mid and Hi...

soem like to divide it even more... it's all how you look at it

you can do

Sub, Lo, Midbass, Mids, Highs, Super Highs...

or you can just have a fullrange speaker that does all (stock speakers) and sound like crap too...

Sub bass are like really deep usually synthesised that make you shake
Bass is deep sounds... between sub and mids
midbass would be like snare drum, the punchy type bass...
mids are vocals etc
tweeters cover the highs as in symbols flutes... more digital sounds... wistles bells etc...

there's no concrete explination, it's all how you cross it over... if you don't get a midbass driver, then the sixes will cover midbass for you...

like i said... you'd have to have a system tuned to you... jbl is great for american music... but mostly for rock IMO. it's got a strong mid-bass responce. allot of places have walls of music... i'd pop in and visit to see what you like... or go further and buy from somewhere with a return policy, and actually listen to them.
