Good all around tire

Any suggestions for a decent all season/performance tire to put on my stock rims? Anything has to be better than these **** Michelins. I'm thinking of going from 205/60/16 to 205/55/16.

go 215/55/16 instead of 205/55/16. i've been thinking about getting the Kumho Ecsta ASX's (http://www.kumhousa.com/Products/Ptn...tion=PtnDetail).

Consumer Reports recently did a review of performance H-rated all-season tires (11/03). The results were as follows.

1) Falken Ziex ZE 512 ($60)
2) Bridgestone Turanza LS-H ($100)
3) Bridgestone Potenza RE950 ($85, but poor snow traction)
4) Michelin Pilot XGT H4 ($85)
5) Dunlop SP Sport A2 ($65)
6) Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus ($120, best rolling resistance)
7) Pirelli P6 Four Seasons ($75)
8) Sumitomo Srixon 4 ($65)
9) Yokohama A550H ($65)
10) Continental ContiTouringContact CH95 ($75)

It goes down to #18, but now you're talking about below average tires that aren't necessarily any cheaper and I don't think anybody here would be putting cheap crap on their cars.

I have Dunlop SP Sport A2's on the Maxima and they're a pretty good tire for not a lot of money. The highlighted Michelin is the OEM Accord tire which is also pretty decent, but very expensive. You can see why Honda chose them - they have the lowest rolling resistance which means slightly better fuel mileage. If you don't get snow, try the Bridgestone Potenza RE950s. They have the best wet/dry braking and handling performance of all the tires, as long as you can live with the horrible rated snow traction.

yeah. I didn't get stuck or spin out while driving 40 miles home from the airport at the peak of a big snow storm we had here awhile ago, so I guess they're not too bad in the snow.

My 40 mile drive home took longer than my 900 mile flight though.

i have same tires as steve and i agree they performed very well in snow.
those tires pretty good for the price. the only thing i can complain about is this; they have tendency to follow groves and crowns on road.
