AMP Protect light

I have to crappy amplifiers.

First of all I have a 300 watt Cerwin Vega 8 in sub in a tube. The amplifier was an old ass memphis one before they even called themselves Memphis...it's a Fultron Tidal Wave TXB2000. The inline fuse was a 40 and the fuse in the amp was a 30. It worked for about 3 weeks and blew the 30 after about a 45 minute drive with the sub beating. I have tried replacing the 30 with another 30. It just blows it in like 2 minutes. I have tried replacing the 30 with a 40 - when I do this it does nothing. The amp does power up, it just either blows the fuses or sits there not pushing the sub.

Second part of the question... I hooked up another super crappy amp to check the connections. A 250w Road Gear amp. It powers up but the protect light is on. What does that mean?

Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong with these amps or my setup? ANY HELP is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

it could be both amps, or a short... that memphis can handle it for a while, but'll blow eventually, and the cheap amp just can't take it.
