Removing front metal bar when installing BW front bumper

I just recently got BW kit for my car and I was told that on some cars you have to remove that metal bar (guessing it's that metal bar where the styrofoam sticks onto) behind the stock front bumper so that "some" aftermarket bumpers can fit. I'm not exactly sure which metal bar he's referring to but I'm assuming that's the one. He also said that if I remove it, insurance won't cover me if I get into an accident b/c I remove that safely bar. Does anyone know if you have to remove the bar or not?

bingo, you can keep the metal bar, but you wont fit the Styrofoam impact thing at the same time. My car (sedan) needed me to cut the little upper bar, but most people didnt need too. I guess I have a bad fitment body kit. lol

well when i got into a fender bender .. i ripped my Black Widow front in half .. well it cracked most of it .. so then when i got home my dad and I took off the bumper to find no front end support (the styrofoam) .. if it was there .. it prolly would have save my bumper from more damage .. ahhhhh ...

I hope it's not a sedan thing. B/C VtECAzNRaCeR didn't have to take his front metal bar off, just the styrofoam.....but he has a coupe. I don't mind taking off that stupid styrofoam but I dont want to cut off that metal bar.

FYI

Metal bar behind bumper cover is an actual bumper, which takes a hit during front collision.

Styrofoam is there to provide cushion, so car would pass 5mph collision requirement enforced by government.

that front thing is the reinforcement... i think it will severely alter your body if you remove it, it's also prob illegal... i cut my bumper to fit this bar.

the yellow area is where the bar located

i removed that metal bar when i installed my octane front, but then i put the bar and my stock bumper back...as lots of members have assert, thats for your own safety, dont install the kit if there is no way to make it fit
