Cleared Headlight Question

I am going to pick up a set of the cleared headlights off Ebay, I don't even feel like messing with the D-I-Y even though it looks and sounds easy. But what I was wondering for those of you that have the cleared headlights, do you have colored bulbs in place or are they white? Behind that amber strip I assume the factory bulbs are white but I don't know. I like the look of the amber at night when I have the parking lights on but want cleared headlights. So I was thinking about just placing colored bulbs in for the parking lights and turns. Legal color of course.

What are you guys using? And if you are using colored bulbs do they show through the clear headlights? I think it looks retarded the guys with altezzas and colored bulbs when you walk by and see the colored bulbs sitting in there.

Any close up pics also would be appreciated of you guys with cleared.

So do you think amber color would look good? I just wonder if it would defeat the purpose of removing the amber strip. I would hope you couldnt see the small amber bulb in the headlight unless it was on.

The bulb behind the strip is a white bulb, ive seen it on outside the headlight, for some reason though, it shines through with this faded out amber look to it.
its not quite white, i tried i regular blue bulb behind it, and it didnt make a difference, im looking for a green or white 194 LED to replace it with.

i dont mind the look though honestly, and with those blue, indicator/park light bulbs Abe gave me with the headlight, it looks kinda cool, faded blue on the side, and faded yellow on the strip.

Would these work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2473292223

1157 is the bulb the sylvania website shows for turn signals and parking lights.

I'm using white 194 LED bulbs in the strip in the bottom. I tried amber bulbs, but the light doesn't spread across the whole strip very well.

In the parking lights/turn signals, I'm using APC Titanium Amber bulbs.

no, you need 2 194s for the strip and another type (cant remember, i think its 1157 ) for the indicator.

Hey "cforez" does the LED bulb spread it any better.

It looks a lot better in complete darkness though.

I just got the Sylvania Silverstar blue turn-signal lights (1175A), how in the heck do you replace those?, do you have to take the headlamp assembly apart?

regarding the silverstar blue turn-signal lights....

ok, that was easy, lol, it took me 10 minutes to install. they look great, when lights are on it looks amber, when the lights are off, it kind of has the blue flicker effect, looks pretty sweet in daylight.
