Ok who here has a perfect Lambo door kit

when i say perfect i mean....

1.no shock sticking out of the fenderwalls

2.no sticking out from the fender

I am thinking of getting rid of my door kit... both of my shocks blew......my sag screw is rusted and wont budge.... everytime i bottom out my shock hits my tires (this just started to happen).....i am going crazy with this kit......i sent out my door kit to decah for them to fix as soon as i get it back i think i am gonna sell it....

so does anyone have a perfect kit??? (pics)

hey fizzle, sorry to hear you get rid of your door kit bro, but theres an easy solution to it... COILOVERS, i raise my car all the way up when i drive it, an i get a serious 3-4 inches of space bewtween the shock an the tire, another thing i cant stress enough to people is that the door kit isnt for daily driver use... its a show mod for the most part.
an your question...
2.no sticking out from the fender?, do you mean the door sticking out from the fender?... if so youve seen my pics , i reccomend you just get some good coilovers an crank it up when you drive it,ive yet to even touch the tire with the shock

but isn't lowering and raising your car with coilovers pain in the butt? i mean, you have to get it aligned after you raise or lower correct? i think that's too much just have them cool doors..

Raising it is a bandaid. I am cutting my JT kit and re welding the shock mount further down and back.

I have also seen a kit, where the shock mount is vertical and the shock pushes out vertical.

well joes car (black2001v6) is a show car, its not a daily driver, which is why he said that. raising it to go to and from a show isnt that bad, but you definitley couldnt do that each time you drove, its nuts

no you do not have to get it realligned when you raise an lower it, the main thing people fail to understand , is the doors are a show mod, not intended for daily driver use

JT will grind as much of the mount as they can but it still doesnt work. I get special treatrment there too and they cant do anything else.. The car is at my other friends body shop right now and I should have it back at the end of the week ( I hit wood on the freeway). While it is repaired he will also be fixing the hinges.. he bicthed about it a little so we'll see if he goes through with it. If not, I have other friends that weld.

I realize it is a show mod, I just dont care.

Geez I guess im glad I never got them after all. Dont get me wrong they are a real hot show mod and NOBODY that lives around me has them but it seems like you guys are having tons of problems with them. Not only do they cost an arm and a leg but the shocks blow, doors are real heavy to open, doors may not lign up right, and the shocks rub the tires over bumps and such. Just not worth the hassle IMO.

Until someone makes that "perfect" kit, im staying away from them. Thank you guys for saving me $1,500.

i think i am gonna try to modify the kit as soon as i get it back...maybe cut the bottom end of the kit where the shock sits and weld it on the lower end of the kti...

beautiful quote. tell us how it goes.

i THINK i can stand the rubbing because my car isn't as low, but my wheels are pushed back about a centimeter more than the stock wheel is due to previous accidents. only one way to find out...

i don't think there's gonna be a PERFECT lambo door conversion unless u really wanna pay A WHOLE LOT..not just $1500...

i'm pretty sure its gonna be more then that to have it looking really badass and nice..

but for prices like $800 ..i'm not gonna complain as much or complain at all...

but yes wut everybody said about the doors are tru

I am really feelin these doors for 800$.. but I am not feeling that they stick out into the wheel well.. I cant do that AT ALL.. I drive fast.. I cant risk rubbing on the tire..so is there a kit that doesnt stick into the fender or has crappy shocks.. my car is a daily driver.. but I still want the cool doors.. -Jai

i mean the worst part about it is that once you blow both tires doing 90 on the high way your F*cked....i'm gonna try to modify it to where it doesnt stick out like how eric said he might do his...and well see what happens from there...

tru i understand everyone's point of view..thats y i agree with Eric and proly most of the guys that said about lambo door should only be on show car...

but i guess i couldn't resist the price that was given me ..ehhe

can't wait to have my door...beside after gettin the door, i dink it will make me drive more cautious and help my tires from being use up so quickly

so i guess there's a pro and con about it

i second that, its becomes a real danger to yourself if you try to stop at a high speed and it rubs all the way while you stop.
What if you're trying to break when turning at a high speed? wouldn't that cause a spinout + accident?

i'll wait till tehy make "the perfect kit" for $300

well i mean sometimes when i slam the brakes the car leans forward therefore cause the shocks to touch the tires and that will dig into the tire and blow out...actually come to think of it i had one of my tires replaced because of the kit it like ate a chunk of tire

I drove to SF at 120+ and didnt feel like my life was in danger. I am noticing where the hinge is wearing on my tire.

i think you only "feel" the danger if you try to emergency stop at 120+, pushing your tires back and rubbing against the hinge sticking out, possibily blowing your front tires. Hopefully your're not doing a turn 'cause if only one tire blow you'll lose total ocntrol

just IMO though, drive safe guys! Show mods are not worth ur lives!
