LCD monitor in place of stock HU

yea i was wondering if anyone done this yet...where you put a LCD monitor in place of the stock HU in our 6th gen, just the monitor. And then get the seperate dash kit from Honda that goes under the center console, so that u can fit a DVD/MP3 HU there.. For anyone that has done this...what size monitor fits in our stock console and does anyone have pics? Thanks

he did something like cut the bottom out of the dash, so that the alpine monitor hung down a little. from what i can remember. it wasnt hugely custom, but custom and pricey nonetheless

I have seen a Civic with a computer LCD custom mounted inside the dash. Saw this at Import Expressions last November. The guy was surfing the internet when I saw it.

If I can find the pic I will post it.

That's a really nice setup, minus the oddly placed speaker.

getting it to fit in there right isnt that hard, there a alot of 7" lcd screens that fit nice and snug into the slot, and if there r some gaps u can fill them right up with some bondo and paint it

heres a pic of my very early stage of my screen, not molded or anything, i still have to do some more cuts and stuff

before:

after: nowhere near done

this is the lilliput 7" touchscreen btw, theres many other screens (farenheit) that fit much better and require a lot less work, i just wanted the touchscreen
