Does anyone have MD

Does any one have a MD changer in thier AV6 or a MD/CD headunit, i want to get an MD changer for my AV6 like the sony model thats out now, but i dont know if it will work with the stock single CD headunit.
If no one has done this do you all know of any CD/MD 2din units that has US radio frequencies on the market. i would much rather get a changer though, any help at all or any references.

Ive had, MDs for a while now, MDLP is the shiznit man, i dont download mp3 or none of that ****, so copying my CDs to MD is what i do, believe me its easire to move 4 or 5 MDs than to move 20 CDs, so thats why i want em, plus i have MDs with music i got from other people that i just cant find the CD for em or i dont have.

i thought MD's were just smaller cd's
but u still save mp3's on MD's
no?
i just download mp3, burn em on a cd and there i go
but i buy way too many cd's to even use the mp3's that often

naw fort some reason sony doesnt want to put the mp3 format on MD it would make the format skyrocket but they refuse to do it, i guess the two formats are sworn enemies or something, when burning mp3 it has to be converted to regular wav. (i think that what it is) then put on the MD, but i still hold 4 or 5 cds worth of music on each disc, up to 320mins with MDLP

so what are you saying. that the MD is burnt in mp3 format?
well if you are then your wrong, thats why the whole software package is included with the netMD players, it converts all thoses formats to whatever format the MD uses.
and you know this man.
but maybe i miss understood you

Technically we are both right. The NetMD allows you to take an MP3 and effectively put it on a MDLP. In reality, the software used to transfer those MP3s to the MD convert them into Sony's propietary format: OpenMG.

si.
but like i said the reverse wont work, sony thaught of it and made a block of some sort so we cant upload. kinda stupid if you askme, cause if they did that or better yet alowed us to record to the MD directly in mp3 format then it would be all over. can you imagine how much musice we would be able to fit unto a MDLP idsc if it were mp3. and i know its possible casue if you get a data type MD youcan write mp3 to it, would you get music if youplayed it back i doubt it but data MDs could surely read it, so readabilty is not a problem, sony is just full of **** and screwing themselves out of major money.

MD format is old school, I used to have an MD/CD HU about 4 years ago, and it was the ****, but now the market is dominated with cd mp3 HU and changers. So, I would recommend getting a mp3 HU, and if you still need more room for music, add a mp3 changer and you will have around 1000 songs ready for play.

Sony's format for MD is ATRAC3

Well im not looking for an MD because of the "market". i want the **** cause i like it and i cant stand the unreliabilty of mp3, ive been using it for a few years myself and i still love it. plus i have too many cd, that i would rather leave at home where they are less likely to get scratched, i put an average 4 cds on one MD, do you have any idea how much physical space im saving. mp3 are too much trouble this site isnt clean, this connection failed, that isnt the right song, they labeled it wrong and i got the wrong version, this song is high pitched that one isnt, this one is loud that one is low, man screw all that ill stick with my MD for another few years atleast, yall are just going with the fad, or the "market" ill tell you waht ive learned - "to each is own, and because everyone is doing t doesnt mean its right for me". i know what i want and i want MDLP

snikwad, it seems like you are having trouble downloading mp3 music from p2p, yeah that can be a pain, with wrong music and quailty. But, if you already have the music on cds, then you can just rip it into mp3 format, the quailty should be almost near the original cd. You should be able to fit around 200 songs on one cd, seperate them in different folders for easy access, for ex - one folder Rap, Old Rap, Booty ****, Bass, Trance; so if want to listen to Booty **** all I do is press #3 on my Hu and there it is Booty ****, works just like a changer.

But, I guess what ever works for you is best.

I do still have a MD walkman, but that is now replaced with a Zen mp3 player, why not upgrade from around 50 songs with the MD to around 4000 songs with my Zen, got to love it.
