Do you have non OEM Fog Lights??

Ok, I'm looking looking to get a set of budget aftermarket fogs for my car, but as i'm perusing thru the selections, i realize that most, if not all, are too tall to fit in my grill. I've got a '98 Sedan front end there's less than 2in. vertical I can work with, more like 45mm. The only places where i can mount it slightly behind the grill is practically to either side of the front license plate mount, real close to the centerline, very "uncool." Do people just mount then infront of the grills or what?

I'd like to avoid cutting into my grill if it isn't absolutely necessary, but how do you guys have it set up and if you managed to do so, what fogs did u use?

and yes, i'm jeleaous or all you 01-02 coupe peps out there...

Spread the knowledge...
I'll be right here!

for my bro's bday we riced up my dad's car with some tenzo 500 foglamps. you don't have to cut the grill to put them on, but honestly they look gross in the front. just cut the grill.

Why not cut the grill? It's 10 seconds per cut with a hacksaw blade, invisible once you're done and makes no difference in function or durability.

I had to cut my grill. So I imagine you have to cut yours also. I think they would stick out way too much. I also have a cool DYI mod for your OEM fog lights.

def gonna try that, but looks like PIAA 1400's, 1700x's, & 002x's won't require grill cuttin'

I've got 2 1/16in. (52.5mm) vertical clearance...
something cheaper avail?

Hey, i have non oem fogs, they are the 'inexpensive' (cheap) ones you get from a auto parts store. I got the ones that arent shaped like alien eyes but are kind shaped like a track not really an oval but more like a rectangle with rounded corners, they fit in the tiny place between the grill. I mounted them just to the outside of the vertical bracing. So that is just inside of the headlights, but almost under the high beams. Hope this makes sense.

hey dave, so what kind of lights do you have? brand? type?

how did you hook them up, was the electical thing infront of the radiator it and how did you wire the fog light's switch?

as of now, the only fogs that'll fit unmodified are PIAA 1400(x), 1700, & 002x. which are really expensive for my budget.

Looking at the dimensions of the fogs above leads me to believe that my Max Vertical Clearance is 2 1/16" (52mm )

I'm basing this on the fact that PIAA 1900's will no fit w/o modification when they are 2 3/16" (55mm)

thanks dude, i appreciate it, this'll aid me plenty
