Solobaric L7 Question

I have 2 Solobaric L7's. Both are 12 inches. I wanna get a dual box for both of them. I was looking at the subzone boxes. Which one would work better for these subs? The sealed ones or the ported ones. Right now I'm thinking about the ported ones. I'll be pushing about 600 watts on each of them. Also thezeb.com has them for $159.00 with free shipping. Do you think this is a good deal. You can check it out here.
Model HV-122L7 thanks

Yeah i did, but I really need the trunk space. I was planning on building a false floor for the amps and stuff and just have the box on top so I can take it out whenever I need the space.

if you going sealed, you need a BIG box, not the prefabs (they usu only 1.0 cu feet, u need more)
ported will just be way bigger so i dont think u going ported.

try to make it urself, or have a shop do it properly.

you want trunk or you want boom?

Lots of trunk, sounds pretty good, nice and tight

Not even enough trunk for 1 bag of groceries, but MUCH MUCH BOOOOOOOOM, these are 3.27cf for each sub though, kickers SPL specs.

Damn Illusion, I see what u mean. Nice setup though. I want the boom also. I see that u have 3.27cf per sub. Isn't that kinda too much for each sub. The box I wanted from subzone is 1.93cf per sub. How do you think that would sound?? Also is that box in the trunk heavy? (heavy enough to bring the back down alittle)

3.25cf is the biggest box kicker recommends, it's their "deep bass/SPL" enclosure, tuned to about 36hz(my port is just a little under their spec to drop it a tad). 1.75cf is the absolute minimum they recommend for a ported box, you might consider the same sized sealed box. the best sound quality out of a L7 12" is 2cf sealed.

Here's a link to the L7 whitepapers, it will help give you an idea about how big of a box you want. http://www.kicker.com/images/manuals...ManualV2_0.pdf

here's a few box plots to look at (don't worry only 58K gif) http://home.pacbell.net/peter_s/l7.gif

magenta line is small sealed box, notice it doesn't drop that low, but it does get a little louder. but it's peak is pretty sharp.

yellow is large sealed box, realllly flat curve, and drops pretty low. The flatter the curve the better it sounds.

Green is the single version of the box you gave the link to, it's peak is at about 58hz, whick would be a decent kick drum.

Red is my box(well the single version of my box) it's peak is about 46hz. So it's hits harder down lower, but notice the peaks on both vented boxes they are both sloppy as hell.

hope this gives you some ideas

Yo illusion, thanks so much for the info. It helped out a lot. I see why you used the 3.27cf. So you got some serious bass goin on there. I guess i'm pretty much stuck with the subzone box because i'm not too good when it comes to building sub boxes. Hope it sounds decent. But again thanks for the info.
