We need a tire poll.

I think many members can benefit from this. There are soo many different opinions it makes it tough. I'm looking for:
1. long tread life
2. dry/wet/little snow performance
3. ride quality
4. low noise
5. overall performance
6. price
I'm just looking for the best bang for the buck. I have been told Sumitomo/Falken/Toyo/Nitto. These will be going on Katana Inspire 18" wheels. Please help!!!

Anyone have a suggestion on a good tire. I'm leaning towards Toyo FZA and Nitto 555 but everyone I talk to says they don't last long.

I have Pirelli P7000's and I love them. They are a GREAT all around tire. They perform very very well in wet weather. They really stick to the ground. I have 235/40/18 on the front and 225/40/18 on the rear they are hugging my 18"x7.5" Konig Imagines.

I had sumitomo tries and they are pretty good tires but in the rain they weren't that great. My pirelli's defenatly out perform them in the rain.

I had the Pirelli's on my car for about 2 months now and they tread still look NEW. They do not ware down fast. I know my Sumitomo's did wear a little faster.

The Pirelli's are also very quite. I very rarly hear any road noise.

As for price they are VERY reasonable priced. On Tirerack.com or Discounttiredirect.com you get 225/40/18 like $120ish a tire.

Hope this helps.

Re: We need a tire poll.

Stock Michelin MXV4 205/60VR16
1. medium tread life (22k miles)
2. poor wet performance (hydroplaning accident)
3. good ride quality
4. medium-low noise
5. decent/poor overall performance
6. terrible price. i'd never buy it in my life. ($135x4=$540)

Yokohama A520 225/55(V/Z?)R16 (i think it's discontinued)
1. poor tread life (11k miles)
2. good wet performance
3. good ride quality
4. terrible noise
5. good performance
6. questionable. i got it for a good price ($70x4=$280)

Nankang NS-II Sport 225/40HR18
1. awesome tread life (over a year and i'm now at 48k with still a decent amount of tread left)
2. decent wet performance
3. moderate ride quality
4. moderate noise
5. poor performance in comparison to other tires, but getting it in 18's help.
6. very good price considering these are 18's and not 16's ($75x4=$300)

but hey, you get what you pay for...usually.

1. tread life...i have no idea. just got them.
2. decent wet performance. just decent
3. good ride quality
4. low noise
5. poor overall performance. maybe it's because i've been driving my car instead of this sedan
6. awesome price. but hey, it's a 15" sedan tire. ($50x4=200)

Toyo Proxes FZ4: had em for one year/25,000miles, great tread life......great wet perf, and in snow as well. we had a ruff winter/spring here in NY and these held up great. i think they were @500 or $600....... these have been thru it all! potholes, harsh bumps, 2' snow, ice, huge rainstorms, long drives from Ny to michigan.... i highly recommend these..... i was highly sceptical at first, but after 1 year, i'd buy em again
