is it possible?
the ohm stuff really confuses me, i just ordered these and now i'm shopping for an amp to power them, i know amps have more power when bridged to 2ohms but can these speakers handle that?

or is it ONLY for 4ohms?

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

you would get a 2channel amp, rated at a wattage close enuf to the RMS wattage of the speakers @4ohms.
most people go down to 2ohms with subs, not full range speakers

ohms: The impedence of current flow against a inductive medium.

Amps cannot changes their ohms on a whim.. *poof* the amp is now running at 2 ohms or *poof* the amp is now running 0.5 ohms.

Ohms are determined by the voicecoil of a speaker. SIngle or dual voice coil speakers in differenr wiring configurations(parallel or series) will ultimately "show" the amp the ohm and the amp will adapt to handle that amount of current flow. If you go too low and the amp cant handle the current output.. the transisters will overheat and fry.

So.. on topic.. those 6x9s are 4ohms per speaker. If you wired both speakers parallel you will show the amp 2 ohms if you wired them inseries the amp would see 8 ohms. But of course only one channel will be fed to those pair of speakers wired. But you want stereo sepration(Left & Right bias) thusly you would not want to wire the speakers up in either configuration but wire them to each channel of the amp showing the amp 4 ohms and you'll be ahappy camper. If you want more oomph get an amp at a higher power rating @ 4 ohms pe channel.

Hope this helped!
