Does anyone have pics of completely black housed headlights on their rides?

I just bought some OEM blackhoused headlights off EBAY, but i didn't know the entire housing was gonna be completely black. Does anyone have this type of lights? If so, could you please post pics...I'm may even sell these if i don't like the way they look, so if anyone is interested let me know

Sounds like a DIY gone bad.. You have to have some reflectors or the beamwon't be bright at all. Any aftermarket ones you see will be half black with still some chrome to reflect light so its bright enough to see.

werd...diy project gone bad

the only thing that can salvage this is upgrade to hid...seen someone with a paint treatment on the chrome part with hid but not black..

These are mine, they are as black as they get. I painted everything black except for the low and high beam reflectors. You didn't see any pics before you bought them?

Oh ok I thought he meant the whole thing was black including the reflective part. Very nice job though looks a lot nicer than anything aftermarket

damn, i didn't think that price was bad for oem lights....So do you guys think i have a leg to stand on if i try to get the seller to take them back, if i argue that they do not provide sufficient lighting since the reflectors are painted?

Chrome paint won't work since theres no such thing as chrome paint. your only option is to retrofit.

fake chrome paint then, dupont and duplicolor both sell it, its something to give anything an almost chrome look. and retrofiting is not his only option, he could just get another set of headlights.

ok so should i attempt to remove the paint first, or paint over it? If i paint over them with chrome paint, will the light reflect better? I'll try to find someone w/a digi cam. so that i can post pics.

i really appreciate the input, you guys are great.

Just make sure it it HIGH temp paint. If its not HIGH temp it will bubble and mealt off when the headlights are on.

I would try to sand down the area a little with some really fine sand paper. Just some lights sanding to make way for the new paint. Then clean the area, get a good primer and primer the area. Then once the primer is dry spray it with the chrome. ALSO try to find and HIGH temp clear coat. Should make it "bling" a little more with a good HIGH temp clear coat.

i went to home depot today and they don't carry high temp. metalic paint, or chrome looking paint. Is there even a such thing? I was also thinking about getting a paint stripper, how do you all think that would work out?

I can't see chrome paint giving you good enough results. If you have the money, pick up a set of high and low beam Hella 90mm projectors and fit them in there. But it won't be easy.

that's just crap that someone would sell you those, you can pick up the paint in at any car place autozone, or advance, i dunno about chrome though and it's definitely not going to give you any where near the reflectiveness of the oem. trash them or goto honda or a junkyard and buy that back piece, if not i'll buy them.
