is it true that if we dont lock the car, the car will automatically lock itself up?

yes, it locks itself after about a minute.

true, i could just hit it once, but i'm kinda paranoid because i keep a lot of valuable stuff in my car, Garmin GPS V ($500), Laptop ($1200) and i always make sure its locked by pressing the button twice.

is there a way to do it without having to change the whole alarm system to an aftermarket one?

Only if you lock it, then unlock it and not open the door, 30 seconds later it will relock the doors.

illusion has it right but you could lock it once and check the handels if you wanna disarm your alarm from your horn its gonna be useless and you gonna have to check them anyways if your parrinoyed or just get an aftermarket alarm
